Re: Would you listen to music in a language you didn't understand?
Yes, I'll even sing the lyrics, even though I don't know what it means - or more likely mispronounce the lyrics as to what I hear LOL.
It depends, for some people the lyrics matter, and the meaning behind them, for others its the music and the lyrics don't matter as much.

Not usually. Unless it is translated in English.

Re: Would you listen to music in a language you didn't understand?
I listen Japanese, Korean and Chinese Music. Very soothing. Not understanding the lyrics is fine. Who can understand the lyrics of most any 70's rock bands?
-
Re: Would you listen to music in a language you didn't understand?
It's easy to understand the lyrics of 70's rock. It's the 80's and 90's that can be difficult (especially heavy metal and grunge).
I sometimes prefer music with no lyrics. Then it doesn't matter which language the artist speaks.

Re: Would you listen to music in a language you didn't understand?
I really love Brazilian composer Arthur Verocai's self-titled masterpiece from 1972. 100% Portuguese. I can understand about 5% of it, but it really doesn't matter. The vocals are an instrument, and if you focus on the melodies, comprehension of the lyrics is not important.

Re: Would you listen to music in a language you didn't understand?
I've been looking for some songs that are quite old and have no luck finding them, especially when those songs originated from a country whose language I don't speak. Heh. Needle in a haystack.

From some people in the world, I've heard that music is our soul. If the music is the soul then what is the breath
