I voted Cable but I don't actually know what mine is. I'm pretty sure that it may be better than cable but who knows (not me). It's 3.5Mbs down and 128kbs up. Downloading speed is wicked. Now if only I didn't live in New Zealand. Beacuse of it everything I download gets slowed down. Oh well, can't have everything.
I have a question. I am guessing most of you live in America (or other than NZ anyway). Do you guys have a limit on your connection. As in for my connection i can upload and download a max of 10GB and then my connection is slowed down to dial up speed. Is it like this where you live?
Cable: 10M/512K unlimited
Recently upgraded from a 5MBit line to an 8MBit line, and the difference is amazing. :w00t:
It really doesn't work like that in the US. When an ISP sets a bandwidth cap, it's more of a scare tactic, more often than not the connection just keeps on going at the same speed and rarely you're contacted about the overage, and even more rarely the client is repremanded.
Normally the caps are set pretty high for basic internet users anyway, around 70GB or so. 10GB is rather tiny, considering you can download that much in a few days of playing Half-Life 2 DM or UT2k4, those maps are pretty hefty files sometimes.
Thanks for the answer.
You know for a "First World" country, NZ has a really crappy internet connection.
Oh well, there is light at the end of the tunnel. I think in December NZ's internet gets upgraded to unlimited. :naughty: Well I sure as hell hope so or else my ISP is gonna have one very angry customer to deal with.
