Wow, I was blown away. A movie that was prolly cheap to make (everything goes on in one room where the jury are trying to reach a verdict), but has everything, exellent dialogue, funny and sad moments, heated discussions, prejudices, etc.
Great movie and IMDB does it justice.
:O Your a lot more open to different things than most people your age Martin. It's to your credit.
There was another adaption directed by William Friedkin ( he of the Exorcist ) and starring James Gandolfini ,William Peterson ,Edward Olmos and George C. Scott among others in which race plays a bigger role.

If anyone can determine if someone is guilty, or not, I am betting it would be William Peterson. :)
I am going to grab that this morning. I like the looks of the cast and it should be interesting.
Thanks for the heads-up.
Edit- found it on PtP. Just use "angry" for the search.

If nothing else that gave me a much greater appreciation for Steve Perry.

You're like Batman with a slightly creepy Ellen Page fixation.

Thank you.
We could talk about Emma Watson if you'd like.

Is that the one with Jack Lemmon also? I was contemplating on which one to watch.
Btw, I watched it with my 18 year old brother, who's not into old movies. I figured he'd do the usual, watch the first 10 minutes then say it's boring and go away. He stayed till the end. :D
PS: I am a lot more open than most people my age. I'm doing my best to change that (that is get m friends to be more open, not the other way around, lol).
PPS: Instead of spamming you guys should post what movies you watched last, lol.

Fair enough this is the last movie I watched.

Re: What is the latest movie you watched?
Internal Affairs- Richard Gere, Andy Garcia, Laurie Metcalf.
Playing against type, Gere is a thoroughly corrupt and insidiously vicious L.A. cop.
Garcia and Metcalf are the internal affairs team who stumble upon Gere's organization and try to take him down.
Not as epic as L.A. Confidential, and suffering from being set in more modern times, IA still features very good performances from both Gere and Garcia but Metcalf is kind of wasted.
Not a waste of time.

Re: What is the latest movie you watched?
The Damned United- Michael Sheen.
I'll admit that I know nothing about English football and am mystified by the politics and fanatical loyalties.
Fortunately, my ignorance was not a hindrance to enjoying every minute of this film.
This may be the greatest sports film ever that actually has very little of the sport featured.
It's all about ego and human frailty and Michael Sheen does a great job projecting both.
He's amazing really...in the past few months I've enjoyed his performances as David Frost, Tony Blair, a werewolf and now, an English football manager.
What range.
I'm not sure if my outsiders perspective added to or detracted from my perception of The Damned United- maybe more familiarity with the nuances would have helped, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it.
Plus, it featured Deep Purple's Hush, one of the all time great songs and even has Colm Meaney in a major role...what more could you ask for really?

Re: What is the latest movie you watched?
Zombieland- Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg.
What a "summer blockbuster" should be (Fuck Transformers2).
Fluff and blood.
Anvil: The Story of Anvil.
I don't know what to think of this documentary.
Disclaimer: Metal music ain't my cuppa tea...think it's mindless shit...
Anvil was apparently one of the ur-metal bands, the film opens with interviews with "stars" like Slash and Lars Ulrich who cite Anvil as one of the most influential and talented bands of the genre.
No one can explain why they didn't step up into big time rock stardom (my theory is that they were ridiculous but that didn't stop Twisted Sister and Motorhead, did it?).
Cut to modern times and Anvil is still at it, albeit stringier of hair and paunchier of gut. They never quit, and as they stumble through their day jobs are still consumed with the idea that they'll make it big.
You can't watch this movie and NOT be reminded of This Is Spinal Tap...whether that's a good thing or not, I'm not sure.

Drunken Master (1978)
Jackie Chan with Paul McCartney 70s hairstyle+drunk+young=pure win
Seriously, the fight scenes were great and I pressume there was no help involved (as in invisible ropes, etc.). The fighting sound effects made me lol even more which is kinda the point in Jackie Chan movies. The story was so-so, though.
7/10
The new Harry Potter and the bloody prince
Meh, I watched this cause my bro made me. I didn't read the book, but I hate the ending. The effects were good, but there's something gay about doing magic with a short wand imo. A real wizard needs not a wand!
4,5/10
The Fountain (2006)
Pretty good movie. Tells 3 stories and they all have in common the strive for immortality. The movie was a little slow so it's good that I watched it during the day, lol.

Re: What is the latest movie you watched?
To Kill a Mockingbird (1962)
What I liked about it that it was prolly made for a wide audience. Kids play a big part in the movie, so kids may like it, yet it delas with very important (''grown ups like'') subjects as discrimination, for example. Gregory Peck was great in this one.
8/10
