I think you're right, it's important that the design is a help to the user and not an obstacle. It has to be intuitive, easy to use and give you options for searching and browsing that are easy accessible.
And if a Tracker contains adds, its better if they dont get in the way of your 'searching' experience...

I like clean and simple designs

i think FTN is the best , Demonoid is the worst
