I think I'm a complete chauvinist because I don't listen to any female singers...however, recently I had two revelations:

1) the video of Cyndi Lauper's "Money Changes Everything" has been playing a lot on Vh1 Classic and her voice just blows me away...

2) I haven't really listened to M.I.A., but my buddy had Santogold on iTunes and I REALLY dig her voice and the music.
