:pinch: I followed the directions provided in the guide, and I still am having troubles .
If someone who knows what they are doing could MSN me at wmumascot I would really appreciate the help :yup:
i have every thing working well, but i have fire fox open and cant close it because i cant see the X in the corner or my file menu, it seems to be off the screen and i cant scroll up any further to get it?
So my screen basically looks like this:

-_- You need a window manager like TWM.
i accidentlly hit open container folder on utorrent and these boxes opened cant shut or get anything to run utorrent from them up and i cant get the utorrent screen to show again anyone no how thx much if you can this what i have now http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h7...n/server-1.jpg
close VNC and open putty. Login as root and type:
vncserver -kill :1
After you will get the confirmation that the process was killed, type:
vncserver :1
And login on VNC once more and from the console start utorrent using wine.
thanks you stathis you are a smarter than i worked like a charm.....also buggyme how do add twm to the server i found the site but no help there adding it to leeware at least not that i saw
i still carnt seem to install this on my freeBESD leaseweb server. can anyone help?
I installed KDE desktop and it works like a charm.
Close VNC.
Open putty and login as root.
type: yum groupinstall "KDE (K Desktop Environment)"
This will install the packages needed for KDE. For leeware, have in mind that it will use a bit of space so it's up to you guys if you want to proceed with it.
It might also take some time to download and install the packages so grab a coffee and wait.
OK after you install the packages go to:
/etc/sysconfig/
If you are not familiar with linux please follow the instructions EXACTLY as i give them to you.
type: vi desktop
press: a
type: DESKTOP="KDE" (If there exists another desktop entry, you probably have another desktop installed and you don't need to do this anyway)
press: ENTER (The enter key on your keyboard)
type: DISPLAYMANAGER="KDE"
press: ESC (The escape key on your keyboard)
type: :wq! (That's colon w q exclamation mark)
press: ENTER (The enter key on your keyboard)
That's it. If you did everything ok, KDE is your default desktop now and when you re-open VNC you will have a nice desktop to work with.
ok finnaly after a long few eeks installing utorrent on freeBSD iv finnaly done it geeesh it was a mission but yet again googled saved the day..
ok on utorrent that i have installed can i make torrents on it? if so how ?
Could someone tell me how to install firefox
Try to login as root through putty and type:
yum install firefox
firefox will not work with wine i think. You will need a desktop installed. Try to follow my instructions from page 25 of this thread and let me know how it goes.
Ok now desktop is installed.... and?? How you can run firefox?
If you installed KDE when you enter through VNC you will see the desktop. Go on Fedora (Start Menu) -> Internet and you shloud find firefox there
I enter through VNC but i don't see any desktop :(
I can only see the "normal" window

kill vncserver through putty and reopen.
vncserver -kill :1
vncserver :1
And reopen vnc to see if it loads the desktop now
Hi all.
first, thanks for the great guide!
my problem is this: after i did everything in PUTTY and runing TightVNC viewer i get this msg:
ReadExact: Socket error while reading
then the viewer turns off (end task).
i tried to kill the server via putty and nothing helps. im using router and XP firewall.
please HELP!
so what, right when u connect you get this message, this happens to me sometimes when VNC is running for too long
it takes about 10-20 sec and then i get this msg.
anyone know how to fix it please?
I need help with my utorrent. I keep getting "too many open files" error..how do i fix this? I read that i can increase this, but i have no idea how to edit the limits.conf file
Edited: Edited ulimit to 8192, but still getting the error. Do i need to reboot or something? How?
Awesome guide. Got mine setup in under 20mins
OMFG !
after two days of trying, after read 4583453 tutorials and guides, I just made it ! Not on leeware, another VPS at mabuhosting ! was hard to make the vncserver runs, and not that simple as in the guide, so many problems at CentOS for a linux noob like me ...
but, after all, I´m happy !
nvm..
you can download something with 'wget' or you can install 'lynx' (console-based browser).
...
is leeware down atm?
mine is working.
what´s going on with leeware?
Working here, seeding at 3mb.
Iam getting really slow speeds, when copying files from FTP to my HDD (around 30kbps)
Got Leeware. Guess this isnt normal?
do i need to install three apps every time server gets restarted?
my server was rebooted now i cant login via VNC but FTP and Webmin are connecting.
yeh i figured that out but instead vncserver:1 i was commanding wine vnc-server.exe
wine is only for windows application (utorrent here)
firefox and vnc is cross-platform compatible, meaning it runs natively in linux.
and BTW, the KDE install guide on page 25 dosent work... KDE installs but dosent boot when I connect with VNC.
And yes, I restarted the vncserver.
Does this walkthrough work for a Leaseweb or vectoral seedbox?
