i send my OiNK proof
when i get invite?
i wait 3 days and yet don't get invite???
ok ok i wait :D :D
I didn't read the whole thing but can someone tell me who i have to email in order to send my oink proofs.
Are you kidding? Look above your post.
opss ... got it. thx
No problem... lol
I'm really pissed because i have no real proof that i was at oink, my invitation e-mail is gone, and all screens I ever took are gone of the hosting servers as well
All i have are some Oink torrents with my passkey, so would that be legitamate if I gave my account info with it or not?
From now on, I'll be taking montlhy screenshots of my ratios in all site I am member :P
are waffles invites still down.
It's been up for a couple of days, but they haven't enabled invites yet.
ok thanks
The "secret" is out!

I so don't buy that...Quote:
"We're not doing this for the pirated material. You can get that anywhere," Dead1 says. "We're doing it to increase the popularity of artists everywhere no matter who they are."
There's been talk they should be back up by the end of the weekend. I don't know if that'll happen though.
"Note, until we upgrade our hardware (in a day, possibly two) your invite counter will read zero. When we get new hardware, every user will have their total invites set to 3 (not 3 on their current total). This is because we had some glitches which meant people signed up but their account was never created. This issue should be resolved"

The site, running on servers in Amsterdam's Ripe Network Data Center
How are so many tech blogs becoming overrun with morons?
The writer obviously doesn't even have a basic grasp of IPs, as RIPE is Réseaux IP Européens, AKA the European IP network. They are responsible for issuing IPs in europe, not running datacenters.
Reading beyond the very first comment line in the whois lookup would have shown the guy that the IP is assigned to leaseweb.
A simple traceroute shows that in fact, waffles is hosted in the schuberg phillis DC in amsterdam.
Even better is the fact that none of the comments there mention either RIPE or leaseweb, suggesting the commenters are just as technically illiterate.
Yes it is. No modern server with half decent code is going to be killed by 5 hits per second.Quote:
When the site went live Thursday, it crashed after its servers were clogged by a barrage of 300 registration requests a minute. "It's unbelievable," Dead1 says.
Considering the claims that the site is currently running on 2 dual core servers @ 3GHz with 4GB RAM (not stated each or total), the claim that 5 hits a second killed it is absolute bollocks. That amount of traffic would struggle to kill the lowliest sempron with 512MB.
Sorry for the rant, but techno-retards just piss me off :P
Some background information (by Newport, Admin, Waffles)
There is way too much mudslinging between waffles.fm and what.cd. Truthfully, I am likely the cause of all the mudslinging. If it wasn't for me, there would be no what.cd in the first place.
Noah (the 14-year-old, server owner, and code contributer) and UltraLoser were originally on the Waffles.fm team. Truthfully, they were relatively helpful. Noah was going to lend us his hosting until we were able to find something more dedicated, and UltraLoser was relatively helpful by doing some coding.
Ultraloser was unfortunately quite immature. After being on the team for less than a day, he tried to push his way onto the top of the ladder because he "showed more dedication than anyone else" and "had a tracker running before anyone else did" (which was a complete lie, by the way.) Combine this with the fact that he refused to quit pestering us about changing the name of the site to What.cd after we had already decided on waffles, and most of the team didn't like him.
We took a vote, asked him to leave, and he did.
What.cd isn't a competitor to Waffles.fm. What.cd is an entirely different community. Waffles has about 1800 users. We have nearly 10,000 torrents. What.cd isn't responding right now, but last time I checked, they had about 8000 users and 13,000 torrents. Update: 8,514 users, 14,437 torrents. What.cd has their own mentality. They've submitted articles to digg. They've had blogs post about them. They publicize themselves far too much. We want waffles to become popular the same way that OiNK became popular. We want our content to speak for itself, so we don't need to try to attack the other trackers to make ourselves seem better.
As far as Beau goes... Yes, he did run a porn site. So what? a 17-year-old running a porn tracker just shows me that he's got enough balls to run a good torrent tracker. Beau is a better fucking organizer than anyone I've ever met. Without him, this site wouldn't have even gotten off the ground. We have a great team here at Waffles, and I think that shows.
That being said, enjoy your waffles.

Yeah, they're not enabling invites until they have the new hardware installed and running fine, because they don't want to crash the site (like what happened last time).
Actually thier decision is better...
First fix all the bugs and loopholes and then start inviting people..
RTSv2 did everything in hurry and now they still have some issues..!!
Um, I don't quite understand where the waffles.fm admin gets off saying that What.cd is the site advertising itself everywhere. Last time I checked What.cd didn't have an interview with Wired. I also don't quite understand how he presumes that What.cd is throwing mud considering the accusations they have made and the events (waffles>what) they have (even in humor) condoned.
His statement reeks of egotism (if it weren't for him, there'd be no what?) and selective interpretation. A high torrent to user ratio will do nothing when all of your users already have the albums they want; whichever tracker can start upping content that is both new and wanted will show growth. Right now you just have people getting in on the bottom floor and seeding all their music, which means nothing.
Edit: in no way a What.CD apologist, merely a person who calls bullshit when it's seen.
There is another side of the coin, apparently. I just found the comment interestin' - never scrutinized the issue.
I'm not sure if anyone can help me about this, but here goes anyway.
I joined Oink a week before they went , and did not upload nor download anything. I assume I am SOL(s**t outta luck) when it comes to invites for Waffles?
I do know the person that invited me though and I am good friends with him. Is it possible to go this route, or should I just wait my turn when invites are available?
Does someone knows if Waffles.fm have a new addres for invite applications ? the last one seem to belong to "beau" ... but in one of their latest updates they wrote that "beau" has resigned ...
(i wanna know if the previous emails gone for nothing ... i sent my "OiNK member proof" long time ago and still havent got any respond yet, so i guess thats probably wasting of time... im not being "pushy" about that issue i waited enough..i just wanna know if im wasting my time and if theres a different email to address to ? ...)
Any info' will be good Thanks mates .
there is so many topic abouth waffle and still new open almost every day like what.cd!!!
its really start to annoy :P
OT sorry dont no im not member there :)

Hi, why waffle.fm points to a porn site?
not waffle.fm
waffles.fm
Yah, an invite would be great. I was on onik for a while. 230Gigs uploaded. Got invites to various other sites, but Waffles and indietorrents would be nice.
