Some poetry for samsamsamsam
we miss you dearly, miss you heaps
i know where you are, as i am
we both took leaps
we know the hurdles
life really sucks samtimes; the creeps
but in the end, my friend
what really counts
are people caring, not the sheeps
so just see what pals can do
we will, for sure, liberate you

Samsamsamsam has been issued several warnings over time. In fact his warn level was so high (the highest of all active members) that formally a ban was long over due. We had a vote in team chat and the majority voted for a ban. The rest voted for indefinate moderation.
What a sad decision.
What poverty in judgement.
Not accepted.

I expect you had the vote before you all saw the extent of the feelings of the board members.Quote:

Vote again, read through the threads and make a decision based on that. Seems only fair that way.

Actually f*ck that!!!
A member should not be allowed unbanning because of "friendship".

Billy Dean was a useless twat and sam doesn't deserved to be mentioned in the same sentence as him.
They are completely different people and are being banned for different things. Billy Dean doesn't even have an excuse for his behaviour.

We have to try to be as objective as possible.
The fact that he is liked by a big group of members (although there probably are just as much that don't like him) is one of the reasons why it took so long before he was banned.
We can't keep cutting people slack. That would be unfair for others.
Please, don't talk fairness here.Quote:

May I just say something, just a suggestion?
I don't wanna do the whole "Free" thing but in this case maybe the Admin and Mods could call for those Sam upset. 99% of his rule breaking is flamming and fighting and spamming right? , I don't ever recall him posting disturbing pics or Advertising porn or any such act, I only remember Fights and spam (if this is wrong please forgive my ignorance) Spam I really don't see as a problem as this is the lounge and is basically one big spam room, the fights are usually with the same people, so trying to bring this into some form of reality, if 2 people fight and neither press charges there is nothing the authority can do about it.
My suggestion is maybe to ask those he has upset if they think a ban is the way to go.
I mean realistically speaking, Sam is one of these people who is being banned for a string of small offences as opposed to several big offences.
Take Hypo for example, he flamed everyone all the time, he went out in flames after drawing some pics and just basically going nuts, he never once brought anything good to the forum he was 100% bad.
Hypo was offensive and often rascist whenever he was on.
Sam is different as I've said it earlier in this thread.
Sam has a nack when drunk of being able to wind people up, but never personally (to my knowledge)
Again, this comes down to drink, think of it this way, This place is some form of release for Sam, like most of us a place to get away from the rat race, a place where everyone is totally different, if there was never a fuight there would be no colour, it takes all sorts to make a community, if we were all the same it would be a very boring world.
I don't wish to argue with anyone, but I do think a permenant ban is not the right descision.
Unfortunately the descision is'nt mine and I as a member here have no choice but to respect the final descision, hopefully that has not been made yet.

You think?
I'm afraid you'll have to be a bit surer than that.
He made one account after his suspension which made a couple of posts before being suspended. And that's a fact.
He's always had multiple accounts - the only time he used one when on moderation was the Chevy account, which was months ago. After his suspension he posted a total of 5 times I think, with the account Sam4? And since he found out what was going on with his samsamsamsam account, he hasn't posted a word here.

May as well paste what I wrote in the locked thread here :P This will probably confuse as it goes to danb's thread in about this forum.
@danb
Thanks for the invite, but wouldn't you know it. Closed before I could there too
First of all, I did read the thread(or merged threads). Didn't count the people as it sort of ran on. Seemed like the same group of people to me.
Personaly I don't care if he is banned or not. I have nothing against him. But whenever the mods/admin decide to ban someone everyone seems to get all up in arms about it. It is the admins forum, and if they are tired of dealing with it, then it is their decision.
@manker
danb said he was well respected on the first page. It is great he has all this support, but it seems in this last month I have read several threads complaining about things he has done and gotten away with.
Should he get away with it just because he has the support of people here regaurdless of what needs to be done to contain him? I read someone suggesting he should be followed by a mod when he is in these moods. This is rediculous. If this place is that important to him, he ought to control himself when drinking.
I also read that maybe he ought to be suspended for a period of time(I think a few weeks) to get it together and have another go. Not a bad idea, but if that doesn't work a ban should definately be in order.
TD
@ Jonno
We did consider things like a 'cool down period' as an alternative. So he can work out his personal problems.
Exactly.Quote:

Correct. If he is totally sober in a couple months time, then I don't mind him coming back here with a new account. I think most mods will agree with this too.Quote:

no, he made at least 2, Sam4 which I suspended, and okstfupbitch which was suspended by another mod.
Something like a lengthy suspension would have worked best. A month or even more.Quote:

Convient.
But did that account post or was he using it to view the board?
Seems rather sucky that this is what your whole reasons for banning someone relies on.
And by sucky I mean blowy.
wow. are you guys kidding me?
What has samsamsamsam done that has threatend the board, the community, or the integrity of the board.
Fucking asshole moderators and admins voting to ban samsamsamsam.
You guys have no fucking clue, just fucking power trippers.
edit: btw, whichever mod deleted my post the other day in the cameron diaz thread, thanks for not telling me when or why you deleted it, fucking jerk.
Technically, creating the account itself is already considered a circumvention.Quote:

But that's certainly not the reason why his account was banned. So not really of great importance.
I say let him stay in banned hell.
He made more than one account that had to be suspended.
He's a grown-ass man which is sometimes a drunk grown-ass man which doesn't need his ass kissed when drunk.
He's already banned let him stay that way.
He can always come back as Fletch or something through a proxy.
Many folks are arguing over semantics.
He'll be back.........even if he isn't already back.
