What type of internet connection do you have ?

is this odd? I haven't seen any other speeds with this big of a difference up/down or do I just suck at conversions?

ADSL 2+ (20000 / 1100 Kb/s)

I am 3 kilometers away from the broadband central, so actually I only get 7000 Kb/s downstream.

No problems to download from great trackers at 1/1.5 MB/s, but to upload what i get sucks!!

I have...on the speed test I made, exactly where you did... it's probably busy on their servers..or congestion on the internet or you might have to try their "optimisation tool " DR. TCP http://www.dslreports.com/drtcp

I'm really surprised at the low average speed here ???
I mean, I know you can get a 60 Mbps flat + telephone flat + TV connection for 20 € in France, and a 1 Gbps flat connection for 30 $ in Japan, so where are the people with the fast connections ?

To correct some statements here :
ADSL max : 8/1 Mbps
ADSL2+ max : 24/1 Mbps
VDSL2 max : 250 Mbps (D+U)
fiber : as much as they give you (current record is 107 Gbps over a single fiber over a 160 km distance)

I'm about 100m from the phone exchange and get 24mbps down/ 1mbps up.
Using a local torrent tracker i am able to max out this connection with a single torrent.

Got only DSL 1000.

Although I seed my torrents untill I have a ratio of 1.

In my small town there is no faster connection type available :01:
