vinyl. I can remember the old records that broke if you dropped them. you also had to buy a new needle for the record player every so often.

Frog or Toad?

78 rpm records were made of Shellac, it was very brittle and easily broken. Up to about 1952 American records were not played on British radio except on a request show. ergo we were often stuck with, most times, inferior UK versions. I used to listen to AFN from Germany. On this station we got all the original records. Before 1952 hits were based on the sale of sheet music.:cry:
