You can also run your favorite Windows apps in Ubuntu using Wine... There'll be a new version of Ubuntu coming out on Oct. 18th and I definitely recommend that you try it for yourself.

That is pretty fucking cool, I'm amazed :O

This is my first time actually seeing Ubuntu in action. It seems like awesome user interface, but a complete waste of system resources. I maybe a bit ignorant so I might try it when I get a laptop.

That 3D environment in Ubuntu (XGL+Compiz) runs flawlessly in my old laptop with a 32MB graphics card.


In contrast, Vista requires your PC to have at least a 256MB graphics card just to run its crappy 3D window effects and DreamScene.

It's only as good as the weakest element. You may have to change to a wireless mouse to get the extra speed.
