Incest was a common practice in ancient times, one need only look at the Egyptian and Incan dynasties. Eventually, anyway, you'd have relatives distant enough to not particularly pose much of a risk of mutation. Third cousins and the like. It's fun to find out who you're related to, though. I've got outlaws and royalty in my family tree. ;)
