The tracker is up for me too! Some good news at least, now it's possible to finish those Demonoid torrents mistakenly set to "private" without adding extra tracker URLs or patching uTorrent.
Re: Demonoid is Alive, The Tracker Has Returned
Demonoid not working for me. Used to be great 6 months ago, have had heaps of trouble in the last 6 months getting the tracker to connect.....

did you try this?: http://beta.demonoid.me/files/
Re: Demonoid is Alive, The Tracker Has Returned
You don't need the tracker. DHT and Peer Exchange will get you all the peers you need. I actually delete the trackers from all the public torrents I download (and I don't even use PEX, I only use DHT).
Re: Demonoid is Alive, The Tracker Has Returned
On unpopular torrents you could be shooting yourself in the foot by deleting the trackers. If there are only one or two (tracked) seeds and neither of them allow DHT, then you don't get your file. Or you could get 1-2 3KB/s seeders through DHT, while the others which you delete seed on 100Mbit.
I don't have DHT on in Vuze, so I use uTorrent for public torrents to get the best of both worlds.
Re: Demonoid is Alive, The Tracker Has Returned
Fair point. On the small minority of torrents that causes a problem with I go to torrentz.eu and get an up-to-date list of the trackers which are tracking that torrent at that time.
EDIT. The point I was trying to make was that the number of torrents for which the one and only source of seeds/peers is the Demonoid tracker is pretty well 0. It's a public tracker and just because it might not work that shouldn't stop anyone from being able to complete downloading their torrents.

Yes, thanx, I did try, I have to use a proxy from here to get there, and then beta doesn't work on a proxy......

Thanx, appreciate that! And actually, you know what?!? The particular torrent I'd been after DID actually connect to 2 seeders on DHT, and was able to complete it in 5 hours. Slow, but eventually got it :)

Thanx, yes, actually I agree with you, the way demonoid has been lately I leave them on too, I'm not the only one either, reading demonoid forums, many people leave them on as well, (tracker blocked in their countries o¿r by server as well)
