There is a story I remember concerning negative thoughts.
There was once a beggar at the gate of the palace of a certain king. The beggar thought, "If the king were to die tomorrow morning through someone cutting his throat, it is possible that I might become king in his place."He thought that really strongly- he meant it. The next morning one of the guards rode his chariot out of the palace gate and the chariot wheel ran over the neck of the sleeping beggar, cutting off his head.
