Wait he's not a genius director ,he's a genius writer but all his "inventive" directing work is simply copied from others.
He's a better than average plagiarizer and good with soundtracks though.I'll give him credit for that.

Soundtracks, agreed.

As for his work being stolen/copied/homaged- he brings things to the clueless American public that they would not have found been exposed to, otherwise. His efforts as a director have all been entertaining. His efforts as a producer have brought back a neglected/dead segment of American cinema.
