As for "free shit", large companies and the rich take more government handouts than anyone. If you don't believe me, look at Trump's tax returns although you can't. Maybe go with Amazon's then as a backup. Or maybe how much oil companies are given in grants every year.
A majority of people in the US get their health care through work. The pandemic in which million of "hard working", tax paying people lost their jobs through no fault of their own and thus their access to health care revealed the problem with that.
Btw and I'm not making this up, the latest US COVID relief bill had a section hidden in there that gave tax breaks to people who owned race horses because of course.
It's also offensive for anyone at any time to think that they should always come first or that people/immigrants should only be viewed as a valuable as what they can provide for you. I seem to have foolishly thought that we left the idea of humans as commodities behind with slavery.

Come on now obtuse one, you do know that incentives they do get are not handouts, handouts mean money or currency was transferred!!!

It is the same if someone gives you 20% off?? Is the retailer giving you money back?? Or enticing you to buy in there store??

I can give you many examples even in Canada if you like, so a businessman/woman asks for business tax breaks and then employed how many thousands that pay taxes, buy, rent real estate, go to restaurants, buy groceries and on and on, That big business also takes that money saved and builds up the economy in that state?? Am i confusing you somewhere??

No,you don't. What you require is proof of identity. The government allows several ways to determine that, the bulk of which don't require a photo. Actually the only thing Canada is really hard-ass about is passports. In some parts of the far North you can even drive without a license.

On the other hand what the US has proposed is a photo ID specific to voting. That in itself isn't discriminatory. It only became viewed as discriminatory and attempting to disenfranchise certain parts of society when they tried to attach certain requirements to getting one. For example, purposing that an individual home address was required meant that Native Americans living on reservations where they don't usually have that would be barred from voting. I mean just like look voter ID up on any website that isn't blatantly right wing.
