User Ranks - Update

This new ranking system sure is boring. just remove the stars and post count all together! this system is pointless.

Getting rid of the ranks/stars altogether might be a good idea... post counts could be left in the user profiles.

I have two titles:

Granddaddy
Wizard/Witch

it was my friggin idea to have custom names after a certain ammount of posts
read back in the friggin lounge
why is it i am never recognised for the good stuff i do
but am aalways nabbed whenever i do anything remotly bad <_<

It&#39;s not a horrible idea, not quite. There is a reason every board I&#39;ve seen in recent memory has a post/ranking system though. It shows respect for the dedicated members of the board, but more importantly, it shows you (to an extent) how seriously you should take the advice of someone who posted in response to your thread. New members have great advice sometimes, but in general someone who has been around longer can tell you a quicker/easier way to solve your problem or find the information you are looking for. It would be kind of frustrating to have to look at everyone&#39;s profile to know how experienced they are with answering questions.

Adding starts (2 and 4) would be good idea&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;

can we give this a thought guys? i really support this idea and that it will give us, the users of this forum (members) have some options about our user setthings. I don&#39;t really care about having loads of stars, but give this option a thought.....

I think the old General and Klite Problem sections should come back.

It seems to me that people dont know where to post for help and end up putting it in the Lounge where others dont get a strike for helping.

Just a thought.

This is a good idea. That is where I posted the most, prior to everything being changed all the time, because I really only use the board for hashes and answering people&#39;s questions when I can. I mentioned previously that I think it was best when posts in the worlds didn&#39;t count, but that I thought too many threads were moved there. I think many of them deserved to stay in a general problems and questions section and still be counted towards someone&#39;s post total, as there is a great deal of time and effort spent on anwering them.
