Is this a failed parachute scenario
@riddler: the hot air balloon one is crazy, how the hell are u ever supposed to get it?
Well, since no one else put the answer for the balloon one, here goes:
Two men were crossing a desert in a hot air balloon. They ran out of fuel, and the balloon began to descend. If they hit the ground, both of them would have starved, so they decided to lighten the balloon by throwing off some weight. First they threw out all their clothes, but the balloon continued its descent. So they decided that one had to jump off, so that at least one survived. This was decided by drawing a straw, which the dead man was holding.
Have a go at this one, though it's not terribly difficult (nor is it a riddle :P):
Two cars meandered along the winding country road and came to an abrupt stop at the park's gate. Seven men got out of the two cars and proceeded along a footpath when it began to rain. Six of the men began to walk faster to get out of the rain, but the seventh man couldn't be bothered. Ironically it was the seventh man who remained dry and the other six got soaked. Since all seven men arrived at their destination together, how was this possible?
:ninja:
Funeral? The 7th man is in a casket?Quote:

It had to be that or the 7th man was Chinese royalty.
Here's one of the oldest riddles. The riddle of the Sphinx. (its the only one I can think of right now)
What walks first on four, then on two, then on three.
humans
4 legs as a baby, two legs as an adult, and three legs (cane) as an old person
Correct. ;)Quote:

I thought of a couple more. Here's the first one. Almost as old.
Brother's and sisters, I have none. But that mans father, is my father's son.
Who is that man?
your own son!
edit: stupid answer
I know...That was easy. I don't have a riddle book handy. Those were ones I remembered from awhile back.Quote:

Here's one I made up just a moment ago.
The last one before I go to bed.
I have no substance, but real I be.
I only see you, when you see me.
What am I?
your reflection?
Yep. Too easy huh? :)Quote:

I'll leave you with an easy one while I revisit the world;
If you were pushed down a flight of stairs, what would you fall against?
And there's no donkeys at the bottom of the stairs waiting to devour you, WeeMouse !!!
Your will. ;)
:ninja:
ok, it used to be a lake. he went swimming (naked) and drank all the water thru the straw. case closed.Quote:

Don't tell MagicNator about this one, cuz I'll catch shit for it being more of a puzzle than a riddle, but I can't help myself !
:P
A dead man's naked body is lying in the desert.
Nearby is a heap of clothes.
There's a straw in the hand of the dead man.
What happened here ?
oh btw, can you post the hot air balloon one again? i cant find it, want to try it..
double post.

also, the hot air ballon doesnt make sense. how could they have survived just b/c they stayed in the air?? if it is moving sideways, then the man wouldnt even be close to his pile of clothes!
:P Maybe the ballon was dropping like a rock....straight down.
thats my point. then why would the other guy have survived, and what happened to the balloon?Quote:

After the guy jumped, the ballon caught enough air again and carried on, perhaps. Don't know really....didn't write it, just lobbed it out there for y'all ;)
oh i see. then it almost makes sense.
gimme another to ponder while i go for a shower.

Sorry Z, we crossed posts there ................I'll leave you one more;
What word can be written forward, backward or upside down and can still be read from left to right as the same word ?
:P
this was on the internet somewhere:
My first is in endurance but not in health
My second is in richer but never in wealth
my third is in beggarwood but not in oak
my fourth is in neighbour but not in folk
my fifth is like a ring, going where it came
and my sixth is the second, exactly the same.
what is it? (btw, i dont know either) :P
@Z: Because they all arrived at the same time.
@Riddler: Noon.
:ninja:
i see, so umbrellas are known to slow you down? ;)Quote:

noon. upsidedown?? i dont think so.
Sure. Write it NOON. ;)
Six of the men began to walk faster to get out of the rain, but the seventh man couldn't be bothered. ;)
And I think your last one's been deemed unsolveable? There's a few I know called that, answers lost over time and the like.
:ninja:
:D Hi honey, I'm home! .......Oh my god , who put the cat in the microwave ? I can't leave you kids alone for a minute !
:P
If you toss a die and it comes up with the number 1, nine times in a row, what is the probability that it will come up 1 on the next throw ? ;)

:o Wow ! That's right, I forgot about that one. Way to go. ;)
Any ideas re; the dice ne1 ?
6 to 1.
Even if it comes up 1 a million times it is still 6 to 1
I agree with Jmif on the dice one.
However, wouldnt it be:
1 over 6 to the 10th power
for if the dice rolled "1" ten times in a row?
No, because we are only interested in the last roll. The 10th roll.Quote:

The die is not concerned with the previous 9 rolls.
However, if a die HAD landed on 1 9 time, I'd be betting that it would do it again.
The fact that it did it that many times in a row suggests a loaded die. ;)
;) Damn you guys are good...........1 in 6 is correct. I'll be back tomorrow with better material ! :P
NOON upside down? the N is upside down then! I is right.
solve my number one. i havent bothered. :P
;) There's more than one answer to that question.
:ninja:
oh really? then i guess he could have had an umbrella too. and was walking on a moving sidewalk alongside everyone else. ;) :P
B) A plane crashed in the mountains and every single person on the plane died, yet there were survivors.
How could this be ?
