ain't there torrent sites that ban utorrent? because of the fake seeding scripts or something? i might be thinking of bitcomet.
think you are talking about bitcomet....everyone loves utorrent because its simple to configure and very light on the resources.the beta version has a web ui interface for those who want to check up on there torrents from work....:)
i would have prefered azureus to utorrent but it is the biggest resouorce hog i have ever seen in a torrent client... maby because i havent configured it right...
for now its utorrent for me....
µtorrent > azureus
\o/ resources
Azureus FTW
I am a master of lame puns, and I MOOO for μtorrent!
(It does most of what Azureus can do with a far less resource cost; it's a bargain basement item that is worth its price.)
i think azureus is the best. i don't have any resource problems with it on my system. The older ones are banned because i think when they update with a new version they do so to fix bugs in the previous version
uTorrent all the way. That low resource usage is just unbeatable, and you really don't suffer on any features
Gotta be uTorrent...Beats the little blue toad prog hands down.
Azureus is for those who like to micro-manage. uTorrent is for those who like clean, reliable, safe and tidy downloads. Using Azureus makes me feel like I've lost half my clean laundry on the way back to my room. I have to go back when I'm done and clean up/collect all the stuff that got left behind or screwed up. You know how it is, like when you drop your socks and boxers that were sitting atop the pile...
utorrent rocks
uTorrent anyday !!
uTorrent is my preferred client. Azureus used up way too much resources for my purposes. The efficient resource usage of uTorrent is unmatched elsewhere
uTorrent is very nice, but only runs on Windows so is not even an option on my workstation.
uTorrent wins in my opinion for 2 reasons,
#1 Very low memory usage
#2 not java based!
^_^
why? :(
I like utorrent for its ease of use and small resource usage, but love azureus' advanced features giving me full control of what my BT client is doing.
I use Azureus but I have not really played with many others.
I like two, but i prefer utorrent for sure.........
Faraway the uTorrent
utorrent
uTorrent is perfect for me -- small and fast.
Utorrent is the best.
utorrent nice and easy and don`t eats that many resources
azureus for me. i wouldn't be able to handle the constant updating with utorrent.
cheers
Main reason is Utorrent is slow on my system ;) Although Azureus has lots of feature for Advanced users at times all we wanna do is download the file without hassles ;)
Plus i dont like the interface of Azureus.. Though i use it quite frequently :P
Full control? Really? The one thing I miss about uTorrent is the management of upload bandwidth. That way, I could give higher priority to the torrents I want as opposed to Azureus determining via a set of rules which torrent gets the higher seeding rank over the other. The fact that I've tried even asking the author to consider such functionality in any future release of Azureus fell on deaf ears as he insisted on sticking to the features in Options and switching certain ones on/off accordingly. At no point did any of the suggestions allude to manually setting the seeding rank of each torrent on an individual basis as simply as uTorrent handles it.
Reality is, had it not been for the fact that uTorrent kills the rest of my internet functionality beyond torrents, I would've stuck with it instead of Azureus with its flawed seed ranking.
Deluge!
It doesn't have the most features and it's a little bit buggy, but it's quickly developing, has a great RSS plugin and is very fast. If development is continued with this speed I bet Deluge will be the Nr. 1 client in 2009.
utorrent doesn't have and won't get real Regex RSS support, so it's useless for me. Would be my nr. 1 choise for good speed, small size and nice features.
Azureus is Java-shit with connection problems. I tried to upload some file with it and only 1 of 3 peers could connect. The rest had problems caused by java (I googled the error message). I switched to Deluge and all 3 peers could connect within second.
Certainly Utorrent is the best :)
Don t has a lot of bugs like Azureus and uses few resources :D
utorrent :P
It seems that Azureus is slower than Utorrent when I start each of the first leeching
so I prefer Utorrent to Azureus.
Utorrent
i found that utorrent uses less memory, where as the others use more. plus utorrent is great for noobs as well.
utorrent simple interface and easy to use less memory
i prefer utorrent
utorrent
Someone must be desperate for post count to bring back a thread from 2006!
yeah utorrent beated azureus long time ago
