You Must Be A Member 30 days AND Have 10 Posts To Use The BT Invites Section

I don't get why people wait here (in fact, I doubt they do). Other sites such as Zeropaid or Slyck allow new people to join up and start requesting invites straight away.

Just got the list of the sites that open sign up. nice!

i see that thier is a limition to get inside the invite section that is very tempting.

Ross did close it - he said that it served no purpose and that people were spamming it. I remember his post.

It was then opened again, presumably by RealitY.

I think they've fallen out. Reason being is that RealitY doesn't like it because Ross is good at being an admin and he kinda sucks :smilie4:

The whole invite section should be closed down imo, other forums are implementing it much better than us as evidenced by MCHeshpant420's great post:

Either that, or take the stupid restrictions away and keep them in the godforsaken invites section. Worst.section.ever.

I really don't get that rule.Filesharing is what bitorrent does and you are supossed to wait a month before you can ask for an invite???

That's what I thought.
But RealitY convinced me that the thread is a good way to catch the spammers.

When you posted this it was just after your fifth post. The board generally takes around to update. Noticed about an hour after this you were able to view and post in the invites section. Seems something is wrong with your account though appearing as a guest account with no post count. Your account does have a profile with a signup date though. Guessing the account just needs to be adjusted manually to set it right. Gonna let rossco take a look at this first though...

Seems fair enough five posts, although an entire month might seem very long at first...

now i have to wait for 1 month, it's so long

also for me, this limitation cause many spam post in forum.

Dont think the criteria to get invite access encourages spam and even if so not much. It was originally set that you had to have more posts. That did create somespam so the needed post count was lowered to five posts. If your noticed spamming the five posts your account could be disabled or banned from the site. With such a low count of posts needed it should be easy to make those posts and not have to spam them. If you cant find anything on the site to post about then maybe you shouldnt be a member of the site.

As for the limit that allows n00bs to get familiar with the site and the members. It also keeps out n00bs that just want to join and grab and go. This is a community after all. Most regulars dont want to give or trade invites to those they know from nothing. If thats all you want and arent intersted in the community and what we do then there are other sites you can check out also...

I am new to this site as well and although I do think it odd that 5 posts and waiting 1 month kinda sucks I think it is the only way to weed out dipshits. Nobody wants to earn anything anymore...especially trust!!! That dude should have kept his whinging to a minimum and his learning to a maximum...........

Well, 5 posts ain't that bad. And waiting 30 days (or is it 31?)... Time flies and in no time a month would have passed.

On a few trackers I already have a ratio of more than 2... and having to wait 30/31 days there to become a power user... NOW THAT IS TOUGH :)

Only 20 days to go to become full member :)

It doesn't seem like that big of a deal to have to wait to GIVE out invites as well as to beg for them. If those private sites you're a part of don't have some kind of way of punishing you for inviting in a hasty fashion, they should (...IF those people you barely knew don't follow the rules.)

I'm getting an invite to one, finally... and if I were to join this forum with the intent to find people to invite, I would want to spend at least a month getting to know the people I'm going to entrust the health of my beloved network to.

And don't worry, I still do the same thing occasionally, but in my case it's probably senility creeping in.
