and you say you dont have problems with your computer.... pfft <_<
Oh right...those damn "metal things".
Use some rubbing alcohol on a Q-Tip and clean it away.
Do your ears while you're at it.
omg havent u dun ur pc yet?
lOL! i installed the mobo the memory and overclcoked and installed the new video card plus i reinstalled windows YESTERDAY! LOL
and the temps are great!
i overclocked 1.90 @ 2.20
everything working good lol no problems!
ur slow <_<
haha yeah its called christmas..everyplace is closed dumbass. And im not just throwing together a PC like you are. You cant see any wires or anything so the wiring is custom. Takes a long to to do all of that.
And no she was just holding the light for me and like stuck a scissor under the past to cut it off from the tube..and it like fell. All is well though now and it looks perfect
I wouldnt call that a major problem either. I was just asking if it was OK or if it would hurt and I really needed to work hard to get it all off. Dont be a little smart ass you little spammer. We need more VBs and Clockers in this damn place. Mr elmos wouldnt hurt.Quote:

who said a major problem? i said a problem.... a problem is a PROBLEM.... or what just happened to you is something good?
and im not being a smart ass.... i fucked up the first pc i built because of a major screw-up.....however the only way you can correct things like this is ACCEPTING they are problems....
hell i can assure you those "vb's, clocker's, and MR elmo's" have gone through some bad shit.....thats how u learn.
so take advice from people who have been through this longer than you, stubborn little kid!
no, but seriously i dont think it should have taken you that long to put it together...i mean, your mom is putting the artic silver on for you...fat lazy bum :P
but are you almost done? if you apply the artic silver....then im guessing you should be done in 15 mins
Dude..ive been done for 2 damn days i just had to wait for the store to open up so i could get the artic silver. It took me 2 days to put everything together and 2 more days to wait for the store to open back up.
@DWK Yeah I know there problems. Thats why I'm asking so I dont "Fuck it up". I ask questions cuz i want it to work..can yall accept that. Im done now...let me load windows and stuff.
oh and my mom DIDNT put it on..she was holding a really bright light cuz I couldnt see that well in my room. She took some scisors while i was holding the tube and cut the paste. the paste then fell and went on the side of the cpu..ok?
Ill be back in an hour or so.
:) ok! im glad you finished.... remember to first boot up into bios and set things right :)
alright thanks.
im guessing i should do that before i install windows
the manual dont say how to get into the bios...i guess ill try del
Right after your machine POSTs it will probably tell you on the screen ( for like 1/10th of a second) how to access BIOS.
Probably Delete, you're right.
Should we notify 7thElement to reserve some more bandwidth for your thread or are we almost done?
what are the bets at? 3-1?
after reading through these 20 pages im gonna bet against it working lol.
$50 says something doesnt work
paypal?
we can create a virtual account for all of our bets, u know....
edit - btw.... because of this long ass threads, i put the # of replies to 30 so that my pages would be bigger and i wouldnt have to keep on pressing next.... now i only see 10 pages :D
you dont actually think its gonna work do you DWk?
lol
you don't even want to know what I did to the first PC I built :P
Sounds like a great idea to me. Thanks for thinking of me. :lol:Quote:

You guys don't seem to have much confidence that this will work?
I thought you would have more faith in the boards abilities. After all... WE did build this one didn't we?
I just held the lamp and made wise-ass comments.
It always takes one of those.Quote:

my first homemade computer story...
I got all the stuff to build my xcurrent computer (in my sig) except it had a 2000+ cpu at the time.
I didnt put in tjhe raisers for the motehrbaord to go onto the motherboard tray and fried it. Then i got a new motherboard for free from the place i bought it from and installed that one corectly but didnt install hte hsf properly so i had to buy a new cpu (the 2200+). Finally i got it working but atleast next time i will know what i am doing.
im guessing it didnt work, or else it wouldnt have took that long until we heard form dawg...
the first ocmp i build the only thing wrong w/ it was the cmos jumper was set to "reset" and not regular and i had to switch it back...i though my cpu was fried.
actually..... Computer Manuals are your friend (more than google)...
i love manuals anyway :D
I guess your right. I hope he gets back here to tell us.Quote:

BIGDAWGSBACK.
Whew ok...Heres the deal. My system gets up..it runs. I can access the bios..its wierd I gotta reset the CMOS sometimes to get into it...but I can get in. I CAN CHANGE THE MULTIPLIER! The FSB is set to 100X11 right now..I dont really care if its super fast ill change it later
I cant change my FSB by increments..just by 100,133,166, or 200, THAT IS...kinda weird.
I also dont see any place to change my RAM speed, or do anything with the timings. I dont care about the timings though really they are FINE.
Ok. So I turn everything on, with my Windows XP Pro SP1 CD in. It loads and says how much memory I have and everything like normal then says press DEL to enter bios or F1 to conitnue. I have my CD in so I press F1 to conitnue.. to HOPEFULLY load and install Windows on my computer. It brings up that blue screen (not the blue screen of death, but it kills me just the same) It says windows has detected an error blah blah blah then has like 0X00007B (oXf8950640, 0x0000034 etc etc) It says like check for viruses make sure everythings connected and remove any new hardware, because everything is new..i dont think i can do that lol. What is going on guysss...thanks for any help.
Edit: The only thing I can think of is to Format the C: drive before I put it into my new computer... :(
The only idea i have is that something in the bios is setup wrong or maybe its because u changed the fsb and multiplier (u did do that right?)...try default settings is my only idea.Quote:

No, I changed no settings.
y is the fbs set to 100?
Have you checked the temps in the BIOS yet. That should be the first thing you do.
Well its double..so actually 200Mhz. But I dont know..it just was like that when I first entered the BIOS. I can change that later..I just need to get Windows on this bad boy.
Yes, that was the first thing I did. Running at mobo temp of 21C and CPU temp of 29C.Quote:
