Re: Last one to post wins the internets
If the hero of the movie you watched has a massive chin with a hole in it, and Michelle Rodriguez runs around being boring, you watched Battle: LA.
If you don't remember what anyone looked like, cept the tits on the burd with the sword, it's prolly the other one.

Yesh. The Battle of Los Angeles one is terrible, the other one wot I think ewe've got is slightly better. It's a bit as if they aspired to make something along the lines of Black Hawk Down but with Aliens. Degrades a bit though, laying it on a bit thick with the marines being super awesome heroes or something else. Which is a fairly common affliction with (some) merkin directors. At least it's less gay for soldiers than Transformers. And it has a mexican dude totally and a bit randomly going for an hero-ness.
Battle of Los Angeles has dodgy dialogue wot will make you wish someone had given the writer a dictionary at the very least. The effects are dodgy, the actors are bad, the plot is wank (think of the other one crossed with Independence Day), and it has some weird chick wearing lycra popping in and surprise-swording some aliens. She's all like '
sup, I'm majestic, brb, gonna gank some aliens'.
Having seen both, I'd say
Battle: LA is better, but it's still not owt to write home about.
Makes me wonder if they purposely released the shit one (battle of los angeles) at the same time as the better one (battle: los angeles) to hope that it can ride on the coat-tails of the success of the latter, by tricking people because of teh similar names.

Anyone remember when Transmorphers got released around the same time that TF2 was announced?

Almost certainly the case. I think Syfy has done almost the same before, can't be coincidence they did it again.
When will they ever learn to stick to making such great fillums as Dinoshark, and Octoshark*. Although, admittedly, both of those would actually be a lot improved if they took away every single moment of dialogue and just had the shark-thingies eat everyone.
*Err, apparently it's 'Sharktopus' - a fantastic name for a fantastic movie.
-
Re: Last one to post wins the internets
Sharktopus! No wai! I'm getting it. Dinoshark was lulz.
Of course they released LA at the same time as LA to try and cash in. It happens with about 10% of big hollywood action fillums. Thing is, the only real difference most of the time is the budget, and everything that brings. In the main part, they are generic, wishy-washy, shite.

I certainly can't see how that movie could have been made any better.

Two ISP's of two WLAN cards?
Just moving from Win XP to Win7 and have to say it's a dog of an OS. Longer navigation to get to the same place in Win XP. Also the diagnostic remedy is hopeless.
Installed the drivers for my WLAN card last nighte, worked at first, went to bed - shut down workstation, turned on this morning and wouldn't connect to router. Uninstalled driver and then was prompted that driver couldnt be uninstalled because the card wasnt connected. I'm lyke FFFFFFUUUUUU. Prompted me to restart anyway so I did and it works.
Not sure if it's TP-Link being a bitch or Windows 7 having driver conflict.
Card model is TP-WN350GD

Re: Last one to post wins the internets
Awesome.

Quote:
Test subjects with electrode implants use mind control to move a cursor
As trippy as mind-control still seems to us, we've already seen it implemented in everything from wheelchairs to pricey gaming (and car driving!) headsets. But the problem is that they measure brain activity outside the skull -- you know, the thing we've evolved to shield the murky goings-on in our minds from prying EEG sensors.
Now, though, a team of Washington University researchers appears to have happened upon a more effective -- albeit, invasive -- approach. The researchers got some brave specimens to move a mouse cursor by implanting plastic pads containing electrodes underneath their skulls, with the sensors sitting on the surface of the brain. That, they say, gives them access to more telling, high-frequency waves that say a lot more about cognitive intentions. In the end, the subjects moved the cursors by thinking one of these sounds: "ee," "ah," "oo," and "eh." Brain-computer interfaces ain't new, of course, but the scientists say the subjects with electrode implants had more success than people wearing electrode-studded EEG caps, which could translate to less frustration for people with severe disabilities.

Re: Last one to post wins the internets
Skiz you only haev to watch the scketch i posted above to know that it could be a flop. Could you imagine someone like J-die controlling something via an electrode implant? I assume the electrode would be contacted via a circuit in the brain? - Oh boy, they're going to have fun with J.
