my computer is on 24/7. and share program is running on my pc 24/7 too.
at night i just turn off the screen.

24/7 constantly uploading/downloading.

I feel laptop should not be use continous 24/7 laptop gets heated faster than Desktop ..I live a part of the world where temp is above 40 C ...whenever i leave my computer on for night i make sure Ac is switched ON..

you may leave it but you have better buy a ups to make it safer.

I always leave my computer onsame for me :)

I have just built a server/download machine that I leave on 24/7 (with a UPS) and just log in via remote desktop using my laptop. I tried to build it for low power consumption as well, using a pentium m processor, etc.
