Beck's is one of the biggest con jobs these days. There was a time when it was made exclusively in Bremen, Germany, and then shipped to the rest of the world. Now that the brewery was bought by Inbev and then merged with Anheuser Busch, they started making it in the US (St. Louis, I believe). So they made it a domestic beer, effectively changing the flavor, but last I checked they still charge import prices.

I don't buy it anymore.

Funny thing even when it comes to something so simple like Pizza, a lot of places that have say Franchises, actually import even say the water from the origial location to keep the constituency/quality of there food:)..

I am not really a beer drinker, but the funny truth i got some friends that brewed there own at home and the same with wines and even ICE wines...

And all different from light to dark beers, i did try a few (forced actually), again i wouldn't know the difference on some they are supposed to compare too, but they weren't terrible. tasting that i spit them out....

The same, in all of your travels did any big soda maker taste different to you?? Water for sure does at places i have gone...

Nothing is being imported, as far as I know. And even if they did, the main differentiator is the water, as you say, so one way or another the US version does not taste the same as the original.

Löwenbräu is another one just like it. The stuff you buy over here is not from Germany but brewed by Molson in Canada.

Tried a few different ones and they all were the same, they all had a odor?? again i never used any fruit flavored ones, but i am

As i said i am not a big beer drinker, and really it is sad that this happens, they kill something that was good to some and try to sell to masses that don't give a shit.. Here you are seeing more and more of these micro breweries, and the real fuck up is once they get real popular the big breweries gobble them up, some they help build bigger and some they just take over and fuck up the recipe..

It is amazing that something so simple as water can make or break taste, yet myself i fucking dislike drinking water straight without some sort of flavor or better yet fizz..

Actually my kidney issues , i am producing calcium stones and the culprit is sugar pops (sodas), and my urologist wants me to cut them out completely..
But i haven't found an alternative for Crown Royal and........Even vodka and orange pop or cream soda is a no no:)

And it is funny that i would say here in the summer corona beer was very popular with my group of friends or Heineken, now that a lot of golf courses are carrying a lot of small micro brewed beers that are canned. they switch them up. I myself drink what they call girlie drinks with lots of sugar and fizz:)

I will be watching a movie and it is so good i pass out for a few hours...

Or i am in a wee bit of pain and i mix myself a few pills and i wash it down with some sort of fizzy soda and a splash of alcohol...

Or i am up for stupid hours and finally i pass out and up after a few...

That is my sleeping habits.... Now the only time i actually get say 7 hours of sleep is when i am in so much pain and i take enough meds that would knock out a horse and my wife gets one of my kids to check if i am alive or not:D, but this one is really rare:whistling
