L337 Irc Channels

i never knew this before i am trying to learn downloading using this....can some one tell me who uploads all the files here, how do i seed back... how does it work

with irc, you can leech. you have to find a channel that has bots for the type of files you want. the bots have commands to trigger them to send files.

the chans usually display the commands on a timer. some bots have queues in which you have to wait. but if there's no queue, they'll send the file instantly.

off the top of my head, that's a basic rundown.

the jpeg on the xdcc article shows what a normal chan looks like.

Accepting send Connection failed ok i just tried downloading a file...after a few tries i was finally able to accept the file..but it says connection failed, what could be the possible reasons..... http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/8971/mircvu8.th.png is it because i am downlaoding at max speed in my utorrent,...i have also added mirc to firewall exceptions.

thanks for the explanation

looking at the status window, does it say extension banned or something similar? if so you'd need to adjust that setting in preferences. that's the only thing that comes to mind.

hmm looks great must to try that ircs :)
