Raymond Caver. I was looking for an author that would be similar to Bukowski, his writing style and all. It's good, but not what I've expected. Next on the list is Dan Fante.

I just finished reading The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul. It's the second book in Douglas Adam's Dirk Gently Series. I've been a big fan of the hitchhikers series for a long time but for some reason I just now got around to reading the Dirk Gently books. They are truly fantastic.
I'm a little on the fence about whether or not to read The Salmon of Doubt as it's unfinished but I most likely will.
Into the storm by blank101 its a starwars fanfic where Luke gets caught at the end of TESB and taken to the emperor, its better than some of the starwars eu books I've read.
The Inner Game of Tennis by W. Timothy Gallwey. It's a pretty interesting book about how the ego mind can sabotage the knowing mind when you think too much about stuff.
The Shadow Ops series by Myke Cole, pretty good
I am actually reading my own book for the 10,000th time (okay that was a bit of an exaggeration) because I want to make sure it is perfect for me before it goes to print

Right now I'm reading Wolf by British writer Mo Hayder.
Her thrillers are as cruel als they can get. Can't believe they never were adopted by Hollywood.
Anything by Jonathan Tropper..."Book of Joe" is the favorite so far.
"Red Shirts" by John Scalzi was excellent.
Recently finished "Run To Overcome" by American marathoner Meb Keflezighi.
War and Peace. I don't like it. I am surprised about all the hype. 300 pages in and it is a foofy sleeper.
The First 15 Lives of Harry August. Cool sci-fi book about I guy relives his life from different points.
Listened to most all of Dan Simmons... notables "Ilium", "Olympus" (2 book series set) with "Abominable" & "Flashback" entertaining. :)
("Carion Comfort Comfort" & "Hyperion" series still the being the best for me.) :alien:

I just started reading Robin Cook's Crisis. I'm also reading this manga series Hell Teacher Nube.
So is it like Momento, but just over a longer time span?
I am reading Malice from the Faithful and the Fallen series. Its a good read, similar style to song of ice and fire. Also Simon Scarrow's books on Rome are worth a look

Audiobooks are excellent - kind of like Clive Cussler's type of series, except the writer has more humor in the stories.

Could someone please change the thread title to "Stuff I didn't actually read but I listened to the audiobook so I know how it ends and the butler did it".
PS Please don't tell me that listening to is the same as reading as I then wasted a lot of time in First Grade learning my ABC's.
I actually skipped First Grade but that's another storee.

I don't read, used to be good at it when I was younger but just can't read fast anymore and it pisses me off to try and read. I do enjoy downloading books for my gf's kindle though if that counts :)

David Weber - World of Honor Book 1 "More Than Honor" (World Of Honor - Complete 6 Book Scifi Series)
Edit: I finished book 3, but the jumps in time were getting me a bit dizzy and remembering new character names every 30 minutes or so. I hope to get back to this 6 book series when I have more patience for it. :) :alien:
