David Lynch, the Coens (Miller's Crossing is my fave), Leone, Scorsese, Lumet, Ford, Jodorowski, Ridley Scott (sometimes, The Duellists, his first is one of his best), Hitchcock, Anderson, KUBRICK, Tim Burton has his moments, Kurosowa. These are just off the top of my head. Many more besides. You get the gist.
I'm more interested in directors and writers than wanky actors, though some are indisputably brilliant. You know who they are.
