I was checking out my local PC stores price list and saw that processor going for ten thousand Rand, that's close to $1000...Is it like a total beast, or what?

It's a beast but not as much as the FX60: http://www.amdcompare.com/us-en/desk...=ADAFX60DAA6CD
I don't consider them to be worth their premium price.
DAMNNNNN how much is that FX60?

Which only serves to show the inherent value of lower cost, high-scaling chips.
My Opteron 148 hits 2.8 without even trying very hard.
Holy shet.:OQuote:

Also, I'm totally new to watercooling, do you need a completely different Case or can you implement it to any case. Also, do different the new socket's not support it? Googling has shown me that 939 is nowhere on the list.
I really want to get a new system set up for under 1200 dollars Canadian that has an opteron in it with water cooling (if that is outside the budget, then I can/will crank up the budget to 2000).
edit: and no, I have yet to check the prices on opterons, will do right now.
edit edit: Is this baby better than the 3500+ :

All your watercooling equipment can be found used (we tend to burn through hardware pretty fast...always trying for a better result- so good stuff in good condition is pretty easy to find) and that can save you considerable money.Quote:

My Opty 148 cost $200 (US) and works beautifully.
