Library.nu is my primary source for e-books, though also check out http://www.manybooks.net/ for anything in Project Gutenberg and the public domain or under creative commons. The choice of formats is extensive, each work has useful details listed, and the site layout is both functional and pleasing to the eye.

Thanks for the manybooks link. I used to reformat books from project Gutenberg with Latex. With this site it's much easier.

Library.nu taken down February 15, 2012. what a shame. Another site that has tonnes of free ebooks is http://www.freeeboooks.com
