Urgent CPU Overheating Problem
This started earlier. For some reason, my cpu temp. continues to get higher. And when it gets too hot, its shuts down. I turned my OC off so its running stock. Ive tried clearing the CMOS and it still does it.
The fan is spinning at the right speed. It was dusty but I got some compressed air and cleaned it out. Heatsink connects to the cpu just fine. Put some more thermal compound on just to be safe (not too much ;) ). Its not hot in the room. Had a nice breeze earlier.
This doesnt make sense :( Just happened out of no where. I cant even get Windows to load cause it shuts down too fast.
Re: Urgent CPU Overheating Problem
Hit it, it always works when its out of line.
I can send you that exhust fan when i get my case, i wont need it anymore.
What are you using to read the temp, some programs cant read right. Mine says its running at 80c and i know theres no way its over 48c.

Nope, no possible way it is on backwards. Got it on how it came factory. I got one of those circular heatsinks.
I havent changed anything. It been on the cpu for a few months now. Unless it magically flipped itself around
Re: Urgent CPU Overheating Problem
Try underclocking it and seeing if it over heats, then you can at least tell its something wrong with the hardware.

Got it going as low as possible.

And its stable, if so then make sure you have the right v core set, and make sure there aren't anythings set to make the core sync with the memory or some odd setting like that.

Do these look correct? I reset the CMOS so everything in the bios is how it should be. I cleaned off the thermal paste and applied some new stuff. It seemed to stay at 41C but slowely climed up and shut down.
Re: Urgent CPU Overheating Problem
What fan is on that? Give us a CPU cooler model or a link to the product. 2550 RPM isn't very fast for a CPU fan.
The temps show 39° in the pics. How high did it go before it shut down?
Re: Urgent CPU Overheating Problem
Check the BIOS for failsafe options, maybe there set unreasonably low.
