How to Install Xp (without registering)
Hi Guys,
I have a legit Windows XP CD (given to me by a friend)
I have ME at present and am building a new computer that I want to put XP on.
I also want to put it on a friend's computer and do not want to pay Micro$oft for a copy of it as I have asked them to trade in my ME (due to it being crap)and got back a silly reply.
Is there an easy way of by-passing their registration system ? I understand that one gets a few launches of the OS before you have to register with them.
MY CD is 2 years old so it does not have SP (and from what I have read I am not sure that I want SP anyway !)

Re: How to Install Xp (without registering)
yes you do want the SP (service pack) for your computer to be secure/up to date.
Without sp1 (minimum) you can't use USB 2.0.
:P
For the fegistration, there are cracks out there I think but you cannot discuss that on this board.
I recomend you download XP CORP with SP2 slipstreamed. The CORP version doesn't have activation system in it, so you won't have any problems, and the SP2 slipstreamed means you don't have to download and install SP2 each time you reinstall windows. :D
Re: How to Install Xp (without registering)
Cant talk about that unfortunatly. But im sure someone will pm u on how to do it with XP PRO

Nope, I haven't seen any USB2.0 drivers install on non-sp1/sp2 computers.
And yes you need a valid key but that's not hard to find.
The download might even come with one.

That's BS. SP2 works fine.
