Ok! Theres a good idea! Because we all know that we are built the same and men are not bigger and stronger in general than women...
Fuck sake JP, are you just trying to irritate me?
Why do the women get paid the same as the men in Tennis tournaments. That's what I want to know. The women only play 3 set matches. Equality. Arsebiscuits.
:dabsrod:
:ermm:
Give the women performance enhancing drugs and make the men wear blindfolds.
Can't say fairer than that.
ffs they cant even compete for the whole month
Women should be given the option to compete in the men's competitions but not made to. They should have their own events too. You'll probably find in most arenas women won't even try to compete with men because they won't be able to. I just don't like the idea of them being given a blanket 'no' without even a chance to try if they want. They shouldn't be given any extra dispensations though. And it would be really lame if they had to start looking like Paula Radcliffe to do it. Anyone remember that Russian female athlete that had to prove she was a woman because she looked so much like a man?
Fair enough, so long as men have the option to compete in Women's competitions. Or do you think equality would just be silly.
I'm sure there's plenty of chaps who would like to pick up the prizes at Women's tennis competitions.
I'm off to play in the Wymyn's Darts Championships.
Anastasia Dobromysova the reigning champion is a good player actually.

She's in the BDO I think
I have entered for the girls' beach volley ball.
If you start playing beach volleyball, do you automatically change into a hawt burd?
Yup, it's the law.
Pish
If women are to be allowed to enter men's events then the same must be true in reverse. Anything else would be iniquitous.
There only are men's and women's events to give the lassies a chance to win. Why would you want that taken away. The number of successful woman sportists would be as near nothing as makes no difference. Is that what you want, well, is it.
Was that a rhetorical question?
My point is, athletes don't care about point scoring. Men simply wouldn't want to participate in most womens' events, and would very rarely even see women in theirs.
But since you mention it, actually some events really sicken me. When you see women whose bodies no longer fit their biological purpose and you can no longer differentiate them from a 10 year old boy, I think the values and point of the Olympics is lost.
I see you ignored the hot potato :sneaky:
I see the point in allowing separate events, because the Olympics is as much to do with the spirit of perseverance as it is physical ability. If you didn't have separate events women would miss out on the former. If however they feel they can compete with men and their performance backs that up, then how can anyone find a good reason to exclude them? I mean, darts for instance; what has physical strength got to do with that?
I totally agree.
However for the sake of equality if women are allowed to compete in men's events then there is no conceivable justification for not allowing men to compete in women's.
Unless of course equality only works in one direction. What woman would support that.
Oh I see! You believe the principle of equality is so important it must be preserved over logic and reason. It would be commendable if it wasn't so unrealistic.
On the subject of t'Olympics, I can't really understand all this fuss. 'Greatest show the world has ever seen'. It's still a bunch of people prancing about with drums.
Equality must always be assumed and provided for unless proved otherwise.
It could work in favour of women occasionally, for example in gymnastics, diving, or synchronised swimming
Also, men and women do compete equally in the showjumping, although they do need to provide their own horses :dabs:
well you'd only be encouraging more hulk like female athletes . Also from the male's perspective can be seen to be a tad unfair as women have the option of deciding to take part in either comp while men can only take part in one Also why would a woman want to take part in the men's because if she is able to meet the qualifying time more often than not that time will be gold in the women's.
Ive been saying this all of my life. It will never happen because someone will claim it isn't fair. Even though I consider it the most level playing field there can be.
That being said, we need Woman's Beach Volleyball 24/7
^ but if one event=one sport you'll have heman women and who'd want that. I'll take my women's beach volleyball where women look like women :).
Also taking a genetics view point even with hulks(women that is) they'll still always be lesser athletes regarding final performance since their bodies will never be as strong/powerful as a man.
Well I guess 1 exception... beach volleyball.
split that one into genders.
