Come on, the majority of this forum are mature enough to handle swear words. Do we REALLY need to edit them out? can we at least replace them with something like f*ck instead of the stupid :swear: thing?

Personally, I could give a shit about a curse word here or there. I didn't know that curse words werent allowed. Either way, this site is comprised of users who condone piracy. Filesharing is the reason we are all here. I doubt anyone on these forums is being offended by the creative uses of the word F*U*C*K* throughout these forums. :o :o :o :)
I can say all of this, because I feel that we, as an online community, police ourselves. We don't need anyone to do it for us. :) ;)
I can't see why we cannot communicate without swearing. That's being mature.
I always thought that there wasn't supposed to be excessive swearing, don't think there is a problem with a word here and there
That was just a test ... ;)
fuck
I like the little fuck guy. ;)
:ninja:
lol, well, thats alot better than :rtfm:
I don't think people should be given permission to swear. So far I havn't seen much of it but once (certain) people know they can do it, then they'll be more of it around. There are quite a few youngsters on this board that we have to think about.
well, then someone will have to figure out how to age proof the lounge :P
Unfortunately, that is impossible as it is too easy to lie on the internet. Hell, most people on here think i'm a 26 year old female when infact i'm a 53 year old man!
Oh, and i'd be gratefull if you would keep that to yourself!
Whether mature or not, the site is not about swearing on a constant basis. Minimal swearing is no issue. It's those who choose to add them to every other sentence or every post that gets annoying. Some don't mind, some do, that's the purpose of the board rules. Meant as a guideline so to speak and as most of us know it indicates no excessive use, not no use whatsoever. So if we are mature enough to want to swear, we should be mature enough to at least take the rules into consideration when doing so.Quote:

emoticons are not a bad idea for replacement.

just to add my tuppence. i dont really mind swearing on this board..at times it is the easy thing to say but that said to use it to much is wrong.......
and like somebody said to swear shows how little you know of your own language to express yourself......
swear if needed but dont over do it B)

Personally, I felt that the context in which the word was used was even more offensive than the word itself, as I feel that this was particularly disrespectful to the members of the board. Sure why not just insult the people you are requesting help from.. I guess some people aren't the brightest bulbs in the garden.
Edit: added my two cents.
I knew it all along!!!Quote:

And I'm sure FC did too
serious: I don't mind someone saying sh*t or f*ck once in a while, as long as it isn't a message FULL of those things.....
But it's true, once it is allowed, there will be people who take disadvantages of it.....sad but true......aah, fuck it
peace
I'm being picked on :(
fuck!
Fuck that, I don't like emoticons
 How you do that
Who, what, where, when, actus reus, mens rea.

Thanks Petri!
ok untick the "do you wish to enable emoticons in this post?" box at the bottom of your message and you can say anything you want, it mens you cnt use any though, so fuck to all that shit lol
Too late Stoi!
Now, imagine someone keeps repeating swearing words in their answers, can't type, misspells words, grammar errors, and acts like a child who doesn’t know any better. I think this combination would be horrible.   I think the new icon is pretty good for you people who like to swear so much for some reason. :PQuote:

i see. but when it replaces it, it replaces it with :swear: and not the icon.. any way around this?
If you click show all, it shows now that the word is different. It seems to work with that word, I tested it by previewing.
I think a moderate use of foul language on this board is acceptable. When it leads to extreme usage it ought to be censored but not so much so such as on the Skinzaa board; somebody posted "gay" in their post and it was edited by a moderator and replaced with "happy". Now, that's just too low ... <_<
whats next? replace S**T with #2 :P
;) I think you sinners need to watch the cussing and the posting of all them pics of men in the lounge.Nothing but sinful I tell ya.Come to MusicWorld.....good...clean...fun. :)
There you go.Quote:
2. There will be no excessive use of profanity. Please keep all foul language to a minimum.
The propriety of any of the questionable words is (should be) determined by it's timing/context-an admonition to "not use to excess" should be sufficient. ;)
Which is exactly what Rule 2 states.. <_<
:ninja:
true but what about thisQuote:

how about F***?
what exactly is it that we are allowed to use freely and without restrictions?
This is fucking ridiculous. Swearing isn't the worst thing on this board. We need to deal with the pictures in peoples sigs.
