my school limits our MAC addresses to 200mb up&down a day. so i suppose a proxy wouldn't do anything to help that? :(

In my school we have access to the proxy sites but the ones we access end up being blocked. So we have to like use this method where you access all THE INTERNET without any hassle.....its a bit like being the admin in your own limited user account. Hefty trick works though YAAAY.

There is a program called SMAC that can change the MAC adress in the registry in Windows on the fly. I use it sometimes to get rid of the IP adress because of the lease time.

I'm not sure if you have to be an admin to use it though.

I use ssh tunneling thru my account at dreamhost.com. Traffic is encrypted, my company does content filtering and hence all proxy sites are blocked. They however dont disable ssh
