And it’s easily one of the top five movies that I’ve ever seen. I haven’t been this blown away since I went to see Saving Private Ryan for the first time and I could have easily walked right back into the theater and watch it again.
What a masterpiece.
i heard it was too long...and it really didnt need to be as long as it was.
still going to see it at a nice theater though.
It’s not to long. It takes time to develop a story and characters so that you can get to know them.
i felt it took too fuckign long for them to get to the island...

i saw it on fri night. it's way too long. epic, but way too long. i almost cried at the end.
and yes, the 2nd half is kinda boring. i yawned many times in the 2nd half. but this is definitely a good movie

I really think that anyone who thinks that this movie is to long has the attention span of a flea. I don’t know what it is about people hearing that a movie is three hours long that make them not want to go see it. A story takes time to tell and develop and so do that characters that are in the movie so that you have an understanding as to what’s really going on.
Good movies are so few and far between now that its rare when really good ones come along like this one.

There were only three characters at the end of the movie that we could possibly have seen any development in, and those three personalities were as distinctly flat and cliched as they were at the beginning. It was also pretty stupid how they cut from unconcious ape on island to chained up onstage in NYC - quite how they managed that move is unknown to me.
