I overclocked my card to max core and memory, and I lowered them by 10-20mhz just to be safe.
But ATItools tells me my card's still 87C after 2 hours of quake4, with the fan running at 100%.
I know 87C is a bad temp, but I have not had any problems, but just to be safe, I tried the card on stock settings and the temp is still 85C!!!
What's the problem? Why is my card running at 85C on stock?? that's friggin hot.:O
Why start a new thread? You could have use your existing one.
Maybe you card is damaged? Maybe the heatsink needs to be reset?
I opened case and checked, and the video card seems fine: the heatsink looks good, and the fan's blowing hard too. Maybe ATItools is inaccurate? Is there some other program that lets me see the temp of my card?Quote:

Everest will detect the temps of a nVidia card...might do the same with a sensored ATI too.

Core temps on graphics cards are much higher than processor or motherboard temps. 87C after 2 hours of Q4 doesn't sound unreasonable.

Wow! The fins of the heatsink must have been quite blocked with dust. Not the fan.
anyways i think hell is hotter than 87 degrees :P
