ALso if you go with BitDefender, get the BitDefender Internet Suite version
NOD32 is the best anti virus out there. It is resource friendly. I have been using it for a year now, haven't had any prb wat so ever.
Great anti viurs. #1 for me.
I dont even know how norton gets in that list
im an avast user, its not great but meh ;)
It's called "they are big advertisers so don't rock the boat".Quote:

Yea, in a word, they are nubs. Those programs all made for the general consumer (idiot) so the primary requirement is "can a monkey install and run this antivirus"-if so it's allowed on the list.Quote:

P.S. Norton: why dont you go to hell with your renewal pop ups, bastards!
NOD32 rules. (tells you every single detail...fights viruses with no mercy.)
Norton is o.k, but it's always BOTTLENECKING the whole system. The software's codeing has some major glitches.
Since Norton is the most "popular"...you'll find there are also "Norton Targeted" viruses that damage your copy. I've seen it happen, so I know it's out there.
The best AV tests I've seen usually rate either NOD32 or KAV 1st or 2nd. And then BitDefender 3rd.
Agreed, yea kav comes close to NOD32. I also heard some good words about TrendMicro, but I guess it's prob behind those.Quote:

ooops double post
Antivir is one of the best "free" programs out there! www.free-av.com
Bit defender and McAfee are good pay antivirus programs. Norton is good but it slowed my system down. Avg, Avast, Panda, and ETrust seem to be a pain in the kneck for me, never finding anything. You need to find something that best works with your system that doesn't slow it down. Remember spyware is different then a virus so i also use Spyware doctor for spyware and Ad Aware Se for adware. Seems to do pretty well. WinASO for my registry and Pc Rescue for other pc glitches. My system seems to run well !!!
Please let dead topics die.
They really should add NOD32 to that article.
