The monster raving loony party had the introduction of the 99p coin in their manifesto for this very reason. Fact.
to try and trick you and make you think you aren't paying 100 for it
Other policies:
We will issue a 99p coin to save on change.
The Official Monster Raving Loony Party will not join the single European currency. We will invite all Europeans countries to JOIN THE POUND.
Rich people should be taxed to pay for the printing of money, as they use most of it.
Tax credits will be paid to nice people. There will be a “total bastard” tax for everyone else.
who the fuck is that stupid. :rolleyes:Quote:

Mind you there is false advertising in the U.S. because you have to pay tax on top of the price shown (depending on the state). So you can't buy anything in the dollar store where "everything is $1." if all you have is $1.
Same with the adverts for the dollar menu at BK MC's etc. They show a man that is hungry but he only has $2. they say he can by 2 items for that price, omitting either "eat in" or "take out" tax :frusty:
Love them or hate them, at least Walmart recognized how insulting this whole (99) marketing ploy was to customers and refused to use it.
wal mart still has prices like 99.
also there is no tax on food items so you could get that in a dollar store like candy.
If only they could match price shown in the isles with the price charged at the checkout more often :frusty:Quote:

I tell you what is annoying.....the 9/10 ( nine tenths) on the end of the price of a gallon of gas
yea. Is that per gallon??
Everything is more expensive in the isles, because they have to bring it all in by boat. :pinch:Quote:
