What does your City / Town NEED?

I have been asked by an anthropological company for ideas about what the city i am living in needs.
maybe you have some ideas about what could be improoved in your city /town
Most cities have the same issues so i am certain they will apply to my town and may help me with some other issues.

Oslo
-more imigrants
-houseboat culture/floating village
- more beaches and freer outdoor serving in those areas plus allowance to make open concerts to pull in da youth. As is in in Bloemendaal aan Zee
-International snow/ice sculpture competition
- Reopening the peer so the azians who love to fish there can (it was closed due to american cruise ships "security" policy..
-Reinventing their viking mythology ala Las Vegas style
-Burning Xmas trees in central square after new years
-Market square needs to be less strict, allow for a "free2 market to fill the square in order to make the square alive, and reality check materialist Norwegians that second hand is ok
-Permit Rafting on main river
-Redesinging by architects of Central Station facad and two other squares.

i got a letter from the mayor. i was gonna (and still might) tell him we need more cumminty events and we should celebrate more events per year for the sake of multi colturality

a cafe in my town had a sign up a while back, saying "No English, please"
cheeky arses.

I would think an "anthropological company" could supply my town with two gorillas to replace the ones which recently went missing.

Alternatively, something actually cultural that doesn't involve classic cars, jazz, or Elvis.

A park where people are allowed to play on the grass.

Something for people to do on Friday nights instead of start fights and stab each other outside the Favourite Chicken.

More roads :( Houses are going up fast, and in what was once a quiet residential area has a serious traffic problem. although used to this in the city because of all the disney/sea world/ universal studios traffic, its only become a problem in this area over the last 2 years. My neighborhood is still not incorporated, yet now there are 4 schools within 10 miles :huh:

My town needs more tunnels. I don't think there are any at the moment.

Ared light district a'la Amsterdam and more cafes like they have in Holland

I agree in most of it. Think Oslo need a general facelift with some modern buidlings etc.

I don't agree in the more immigrants thingie though. I'm not a rasist but the thing with a multicultural city and co-existent bewteen cultures and all that isn't exactly working out if a city isn't supposed to be splitted up in different etchnic zones as it is now more or less.

One other thing is: GIVE OSLO/NORWAY SOME GOD DAMN REALISTIC SPEED LIMITS! (just had to :P )

yes 90max is indeed rediculous but then again theyd have to teach everyone how to drive.

It needs more trees and other greenish things (thinking like Gothenburg).
Cheaper taxi/buss/train etc.
A casino.
Better internet lines.
Get the building started @ Holmenkollen.
Better looking prostitutes.
Newer busses, trams etc.

the state is meeting tomorrow with my group cause they dont have ideas - they want plans for what oslo should look like 20 yrs from now....
