Good, it was well over due.
Don't let the door smack yer arse on the way out. :P
Is there anyone left that supports BitComet?
my bit Comet was running great before spring break, came back afterwords, and now it is running shity.

but why should the rest of us suffer?
i point out bitcomets faults time and time again, yet its users still defend it.
for downloading for public trackers, fine, use it.
i dont see why any private community would want such a client though.
bitcomet favours other bitcomet users. if 2 clients request a connection, and 1 is bitcomet, and the other isnt, then the bitcomet user would get priority.
fair? - no
bitcomet hammers the tracker, over and over
good for the tracker? - no
bitcomet 0.60 had the ability to enable dht on private torrents. this defeats the purpose of private trackers.
rather than changing to a fairer client, or wanting these issues resolved, many bitcomet users used a patch to fake the client version, to stop trackers/clients knowing they were using bitcomet. each of these reasons on their own, is enough to ban bitcomet from private trackers. all of these together, is madness not to.
the only good thing ive ever seen bitcomet do is use the same encryption as azureus/µtorrent. thats my 2 cents :)
I think it's time most people take a look at utorrent anyways. Uses much less system resources, and has a nifty search feature on the upper right hand corner.
Azureus is good, but using it hogs system resources.
^^^agreed. uTorrent is much better than Azureus. I've used both extensively and uTorrent is the clear winner.
personally ive never tried azureus, although i hear good things about it
but i run my bittorrent client 24/7, constantly seeding.
so having a client thats low in system resources is my top priority.
and µtorrent does this for me.
i like the fact azureus is open source though, says alot in itself.
everyone bans bitcomet its no surprise
i used to use bitcomet but switch to the better utorrent
If u like bitcomet to use on pv tracker u can use Bitlord wich is almost same as Bitcomet. :P
post private trackeers that have bitcomet banned will have also banned bitlord, or should have
they are basically the same program
But bitlord is not banned and why I write here. :cool:Quote:

One of the trackers I use has banned the following
All versions of BitComet
All versions of BitLord
All versions of BitSpirit
All versions of TorrentStorm
All versions of Burst
All versions of BitBuddy
All versions of Shareaza
All versions of TurboBT
All versions of XBT
All versions of BitTorrent ++
All versions of eMule
All versions of BTManager
All versions of XanTorrent
All versions of G3
All versions of eDonkey
All versions of eXeem
All versions of NovaTorrent
Azureus 2.2.0.0
Seems extreme but IMO perfectly acceptable. Some clients work against private trackers and should only be used on public trackers.
uTorrent is better than BitComet... so good decision :)
bitcomet is not a fair clientQuote:
