Someone should make a guide on requesting uploads
I think someone on the forum, that knows what they're talking about when it comes to news groups, should make a guide on how to request things to be uploaded on newsgroups. :)
Different methods, step-by-step, etc.
I'm sure it would be useful to a lot of people, I know that I for one don't know that much about requesting things so that's atleast 1 person who'd find it useful. :D
Who's up to the task?:)

Re: Someone should make a guide on requesting uploads
Is there a place on the forums where people can request stuff to be uploaded, I finally got PP out of my school's firewall and have peaked at about a 500-600KBps upload and am more than willing to start posting the nzb's here after I upload to the news serverbut it would be nice to fill some requests for fellow FST users.
Any Idea's?
As for the standard way of requesting uploads its different in everynewsgroup as is the posting guidlines differ from newsgroup to newsgroup, you would have to read the FAQ for that particular group so you won't piss anyone off.

Re: Someone should make a guide on requesting uploads
I contacted newsdemon and they have enabled my account so i can now post. But after i posted i refreshed the group and could not see my post in the list.
Is this normall?
Re: Someone should make a guide on requesting uploads
Most newsreaders are pretty useless for posting since they are tailored for leechers. Here is a good guide for posting

Once you understand that I would suggest using this, if you are really interested in posting this is the way to go.

Your posts showing up in the group may be delayed if your news provider uses a different posting provider. But if you posted correctly and they were not filtered as spam you should see them within 12 hours.
A good Idea for requesting somthing is to post somthing and put your request in the header, also your newsreader may be filtering text only messages if thats all you posted. For simple requests create an NFO and post it with your request in the header.
Heres a sample header where someone posted an mp3 but also requested somthing "not my taste in music but a good example"

Good Luck
Re: Someone should make a guide on requesting uploads
This is sort of off topic but is there a good way to see if something has ever been posted? I can't seem to find it anywhere? I've also checked the listing sites as well. seems like a nice program but I can't sink 200 without trying it...
