The Departed

Went to the midnight showing of Martin Scorsese's new movie last night. Excellent movie, I highly reccomend you check it out. :cheers:

gonna see it tomorrow night it opens here cant wait for it love Jack in anything hopfully Scorsese can finally crack that first Oscar too

Yea Nicholson is great in it, actually all the actors do an excellent job. I was amazed at how well Leo did, he seems to be Scorsese's new muse. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did :-)

DiCaprio was actually quite awesome in this movie

I don't care what anyone says sure hes a pretty boy which all the girls love but he can act unlike Brad Pitt

Just got back from seeing this flick myself and agree with everybody that it was an awesome movie. Well worth the money.

i really did like it... acting and direction was amazing.. though i think the script could have shaved a few scenes ect. because it did go on... and a bit of a letdown at the end... otherwise... a pretty amazing film.

Can't wait to see it tonight!

I despise DiCaprio, but he won me over in this one. Worth watching. Would have enjoyed a real torture scene at the very end........

just finished watching this and it was GREAT! loved all characters in this film. as for dicaprio his only other good role was in the aviator. maybe more of the films he was in was good sure, but as for him and his character... no.

everyone dieing in the end thru me for a loop. wasn't expecting that at all, but was really got me was the sudden end of this movie. it left me hanging and was wanting more. lol, leo just dies quick! BOOM! HS! what's in the damn envelope? marky mark to save the day?

great film and recommend to EVERYONE!

I loved Leo DiCaprio in this! I think it's his best movie in years.

He has another one coming out in December. Apple.com has the trailer. It looks really good. He even has an accent in that one. :D

Watched the telecine of this, top quality film.:D

You guys should watch The Infernal Affairs (Hong Kong version) as well.

The script to The Departed is actually based on this Hong Kong movie.

Why did they have to kill Billy Costigan (DiCaprio) :huh: I think it would have had a better ending if he wasnt killed :unsure:

makes it more "real"/european aka non happy ending aka non hollywood.

This movie is right up there with "Running Scared" as far as how good it was.
Its one that deservers a theater to watch it in for sure.

TL even has a "proper" release that's awful as well. :dry:

Hope a DVDRip will come out soon. I already have a verison for my iPod. Very good.

the best release out so far is the HUSTLE release but it has some sound problems in the last 5 mins apart from that it is a good quality release.

I've seen that one too. I can wait another month for a quality release, no rush.

Damn it, I'm so pissed that I didn't go see this while it was still in theatres.

I wanted to see it at the cinema, but they aren't showing it anymore, I guess I'll have to wait for a dvdrip release.
I even won a bet on this movie, one of my friend saw it and said that it was really good and we made a bet that it will get to imdb top20(I said that it won't get that high, and short after we made this bet it started falling down from ~#43 to #80 ), however, I hope that I'll like it :D

When I first saw it, I thought it was okay but it really held my interest the entire time. Most of the movies I saw last year I spent watching my wristwatch and wondering when it would be over. I didn't do that once during the movie because I was so engrossed in what was happening.

I saw it a couple of months ago, and i loved it. Definatly top 3 last year.

i havent seen The Departed but

like some1 posted way back in oct... the movie was based on the original "Infernal Affairs" hk movie that came out along time ago... i hate it when americans adapt screenplays... i hope they didnt jack this one up. at least they should cred IA more...
