Still trying to figure out what "plynth" means; no results from Webster's, nore from The New Geordie Dictionary.

Why?
Best word ever given a meaning. B)
what?
Plynth is not a word.
Orangutang is not a word.
The span above a window is a lintel.
how can you say orangutang is not a word?? it's a big feckin monkey. I may have spelled it wrong though.
And i'm pretty sure plynth is a term for something along those lines.
Nevertheless I understood what you meant.Quote:

So it isn't a PLINTH, which is something like a doorstep according to Webster's ("the lowest part of the base of an architectural column"), and ie the opposite?
Sorry, I still don't believe this PLYNTH word exists (tried Google now too; it only came up with computer stuff), therefore I will have to ban you from this board.
that sorta describes what I meantQuote:

If the letters you type do not form a word, then it is not a word.Quote:

It's orangutan.
Which incidentally is an ape, not a monkey. Ask anyone who reads the discworld books.
With regard to plynth, no matter how (pretty) sure you are, it still isn't a word.
I said I may have speeled it wrong :P
and with regards to plynth I'm gonna find a meaning for it B)

Proof of the word plynth
My definition may have been wrong but looky here
:D :D
A plynth in this context is a stand for the model cars  :D
Oooh ooh ooh what was that? a big "I'm sorry, I was wrong" from JPaul
I told ya plynth was a word! :D :D :D
I think that guy just spelled it wrong. The stand that something like a model car might stand on is a plinth. ;)
lol, don't be tryin to take this away from me! :(
I think the "Best Word Ever" is Synthesis it's Meaning and use will always will be modern

Your proof is based on the fact that someone else cannot spell.
You don't even know the difference between a monkey and an ape.
I smell a Sunderland supporter looking for a meaningless victory.
Second description of PLINTH by Webster's: "a block used as a base (as for a statue or vase) [Latin plinthus, from Greek plinthos]" :DQuote:

Don't ever call the librarian an monkey; he's an ape.
One of my favourite words is oxymoron.
In honor of this post: neologism (see Websters definition #2)- an example being "plynth"
I like the logicQuote:

Bo is a flegrop.
My entry fot 'favorite word' would have to be 'impulse'. It has many meanings, applying from shopping to Star Trek. I also like how it sounds when you say it
Oh, and Orangutan is a South-East Asian ape that is fairly large. Ironically, the name comes the Malay words 'orang' and 'utan' which mean 'large monkey or ape'. So there you have it. If you go to the Singapore Zoo, you can have tea with them and watch them eat Rambutans, another favorite word (and fruit!)
hawkeye18 - 'no, I'm not on drugs, why do you ask?'
My best word is "monotone"
The worst word is "nits"
Favourite words: Depth, Fracas, Box, Mucus.
Least Favourite: Affleck, Cunt, Work, Broke.
My favorite word is Vermont. Vermont also happens to be my favorite place. From the french "les verts monts"(that was the original spelling, verts with a t) for the green mountains, shortened to Verds Monts, and later changed to Vermont. The Green Mountains are one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world and, in my opionion, among the most beautiful. See this link for more information on Vermont .
ma favourite word has to be........ supercallygoballisticcelticwereautrocious   :P
Fav word: cunnilingus!
Fav Word combo: cunnilingus & fellatio!
What else can I say?
