Hey good idea RF ;)
I've chosen horror cause most of my books are Stephen King/James Herbert/Richard Layman etc.
I like 3:
-Horror
-SiFi/Fantasy
-Crime/Thriller/Mystery
I voted for Crime/Thriller... although I do read a lot of books on Physics/Astronomy/Cosmology. I enjoy reading them as much but not purely for enjoyment purposes. :D
:P Yes.....I was the one that voted Romance! :P
Even though Sexual Thrillers are also nice. :D
wooohooo, us SciFi/Fantasy fans are winning!
Nope... us horror fans are winning :P
Well, Technically.......
Horror is a sub category of Fantasy....
And FC's definition of 'Romance' could be interpretted as Fantasy too.....
So SiFi/Fantasy is definately in the lead ;)
yes, I agree!!! Fantasy Fantasy Fantasy Fantasy Fantasy Fantasy!!!!Quote:

I definite NONO towards reading horror fiction for fun. I'm chicken at heart and I absolutely need to hug my pillow hard and have lotsa blankets after watching ot reading any content to do with horror.
Nooooooooooo.... its a conspiracy I tell ya! The horror of it!
Thrillers, particularly techno-thrillers. ;)
And techno/thrillers are often sci-fi too...so there we are again! lolQuote:

I like: Action/Adventure
 Its very close, in fact its neck & neck
Well, just added another rat to the rat race!
All Forsyth, Grisham, Crichton, Harris etc. fans unite and vote for the Crime/Thriller/Mystery novels!
Come on the crime/thriller/mystery!!!!
It's a mystery to me, how west ham got relegated today :(
Such a crime!
But at least it went to a final day thriller!!! :o

Don't any of you realise you're spelling sci fi wrong?
C'mon, this is bookworld, books involve grammar !
Anyway, I voted for other, because action doesn't seem to be listed, and also, perhaps fiction?

I'd have to say about 65% sci fi/fantasy and 35% a mix of most others( no romance unless FC's counts) :)
Sci fi can also be spelt like sifi, depending on which country you come from. Its like the spelling of programme can also be spelt like program :)
Thankyou Curley, thats what i thought....
The only place I ever saw Sci Fi is on the Sci Fi channel.
At my Library it definatly has a SiFi/Fantasy Section.........but I bow to your superior intelect.
Im just an uneducated Geordie, and would hate to get into a discussion on the correct use of the English language..............even an Australian would win ;)
I voted no nr 1: horror
But certain books are hard to fit exactly in a specific category.
H.P.Lovecraft's work e.g. would fit sometimes under Fantasy or
sometimes even sci-fi. :sorcerer:
I hated answering that question. ;) I don't have a specific genre I like to read most often. I've got a lot of fantasy, and some sci-fi, but I also enjoy the "classics" very very much. And certain history books are most entertaining. I guess my taste in literature is just as eclectic as my taste in music. :D
:ninja:
voted for action (Only read books for school)
got to be Sci-Fi/Fantasy (although did you have to put those 2 together?),
i tend to read more fantasy than sci-fi, but have been know to write in both B)
and now that uni is finished with i can get get back to the thing i enjoy, where did i put that unfinsihed thingy i was working on
I read both too, and Terry Pratchett.......omg what would i put him under? :blink:Quote:

I voted Biography's, find them most interesting :)
I voted under other.
Mostly educational what i read -_- ^_^ <_<
You can not go wrong with a good action war book. CATCH 22
I read all of the above but I'd say that sci-fi and fantasy make up the bulk of my collection.
Best war book i've read is Band of Brothers by Stephen Ambrose.Quote:

 <_< READ it makes you seem smarter atleast. It also helps with your writing.
For those who read Catch 22, you should read Something Happened. It's the sequel, which was written many years later, and stars most of the main characters in their retirement years. Wonderful book - imagine Yossarian with denture and diapers - anyway, it's just as good IMHO, and perhaps a little more tongue-in-cheek (if that's possible).
