i think it looks gay. maybe i'm gay? i think they shoulda left the name ATI on the board. um, ford ownz mazda, lincoln and what else? they didn't take those names off of those vehicles and put FORD on everything now did they?
I thought they would leave ATI name all over their products, AMD on them would just put potential customers off.
not if they know that theres nomore ati.
nails u might be, how can comp cards LOOK gay? its a board with chips n shit on it. I could understand if there was like a rainbow or sum other gay shit on it.
think about in the business sense, would u buy say a recipe or company and not put your name on it? the avg consumer might go looking 4 an ATI card and see that Amd's NEW cards look just like ATI's. Joe blow might think "wow AMD is really doing well".......... BAM instant FREE advertising, not too mention what that would do for AMD's existing line of products. joe blow thinks, "hey i just bought an AMD graphics card, let me check out AMD some more." we live in capitalist world you should think that way and understand why companies do/dont do these types of things.
the serious gamers know AMD bought ATI..... no prob w/ those potential customers
i don't concur. "w0w, amd's doing fabulous! Let's check out some other gay products." so, "they" check out other products and they cum to this and then amd goes bankrupt.
i would say they tried to capitlize on macs recent success. it did say 2004 dude. u kno when mac actually strarted to turn a profit. besides if you like ATI u'll probably still buy it, even if it does says AmD on it
it has nothing to do with being a fanboy. if you like ati sh*t then u'll by it from amd now. thats it
I thought they would still label their cards with ATI. Not sure its such a good move rebranding them AMD although it is the same company now.
Effing broken board made me dp.
I don't get it, really.
Were people planning to buy the reference design, then?
Last ATi-card I put in someone's computer said "sapphire" on the heatsink, the one before that "Creative".
People who don't know much about computers will notice that before they notice who makes the GPU, most vendors will probably have a section called AMD/ATi, now, and it'll be a transition period that'll give people plenty of time to catch up to reality, if they need notice anything at all.
I hardly think the products of either company will suffer from this, either.
There will be plenty of useful tricks to improve manufacturing and function coming from both directions, I imagine.
