Never seen the problem myself what Download manager are you using ?
A google gives you this :
http://www.firefoxtutor.com/36/downl...eezes-firefox/
Maybe the server you are downloading from is busy or overloaded, what type of file are you tryin to download?
If you use an accelerator like Download Accelerator then you could resume your download everytime it dies on you.
you can resume downloads from firefox if server supports resume
Get a download manager like Download Accelerator or FlashGet
Im not using a download manager? Should I be?
If it downloads the same way with Ie or a manager, then it's not the browser, if it turns out to still be Firefox, you might have to rebuild your profile. I had to do that after upgrading to 2.0 and it solved all the problems I was having ...
U must use flashget.. it is best. if u are downloading from rapidshare (really shit site) u must use ie.
I'm not sure if this is your problem but I recently had a problem with a download that would die in the middle. After hunting down and installing a download manager it solved my problem because the download manager would resume the download if something caused it to fail. I decided to go with a firefox addon download manager, downthemall (downthemall.net) and I was impressed with it. It works well plus its open source.
