what is the best to have?
i always download the VLC player, it comes with all the codecs u need to play movies, but before VLC i used Kazaalite haha
i like klitemega codec
I use the k-lite codec pack. It has played every type of movie file I have downloaded so far.
the best codec pack is ... no codec pack at all but ffdshow codec
of course k-lite are really good, but i used in the past cccp codec pack and Gom player that has all the codecs included in the dlls of the program
Forget codecs and check out KMPlayer. It even blows out VLC out the wawter.
i am using the newest codec pack but when i want to see DVDR movies on my computer he is writing: "error: you have a problem with this codec pack. please use divfix"

I thought that VLC did not use codecs at all. It has its own built in filters for most video formats.Quote:

I use CCCP+KMPlayer (beacause it can both use external codecs and internal ones, sometimes I just use MPC)+coreavc(for x264). k-lite contains many unnecessary filters and decoders
They are only unnecessary if you don't want to be able to play certain things. But anyhow, you can deselect everything you don't need during installation. Or even better use the Standard version of the pack. That contains only the most essential stuff.
