So Man U has a good chance to finish first then ? I find it hard to follow as you don't have a play off to decide the champions . But we get good coverage thru tv and the news papers and most of my soccer buddies like Man U and Newcastle . Tv is like 4 :00 am tho the basturds .
How many British players actually took part in that match.
Manker I mean a play off , like you play a round robin play off , The three top teams play the three bottom teams and go from there . Would you not like to see ManU play Arsenal or Liverpool twice in a play off ? That would be sweet ! :) Of course Manker I'm basing it on a hockey type play off so just wondering how great it would be ?
I just remembered you guy's have a League play and Champions league as well ?
Play-offs reward the best team on the day, whereas the league should really be won over the entire season. Otherwise you could potentially lose the Premiership because of one shitty game (like NUFC against Birmingham this week) despite coming top of the league by 17 points.
Not as shit as the Silver Goal mind...
True.
P.S I like the way you implied newcastle to be 17 points clear in your last post:smilie4:
Thanks cheese for explaining , it does seem confusing to someone who loves the game but does n't understand the points system . My point was the same, you play a team and have a poor result and can't make it it up ?
So who's better number one or two ? Who's on first . Sounds like the Abbott and Costello joke . :whistling
Yeah, we already have the FA Cup, which is a kinda like a play off I suppose. The league is a much better indicator of the best team, as Chebus said.
There's the League Cup too in which bigger teams like Man Utd and Arsenal put out their reserves to give the smaller teams like Newcastle a chance to compete on a more equal footing.
I can see I can't win here . :D I just thought it odd that there was no play off .
But did learn a little bit so can't complain . Still a great game that my sons and I follow religiously , best soccer league I think ?
I'm actuality watching the high lites right now . Who's the goalie with the helmet ? Arsenal ?
There was a rumour that just before the Birmingham game in midweek, Glenn Roeder's head aids came back and infected some of the players
It's Petr Cech (Chelsea keeper), cause his skull's fractured, like.
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but that's mental.
How the fuck can you follow the game religiously, be watching Liverpool and Chelsea, and ask if it's the Arsenal keeper that's wearing the protective headgear. Think it thro'.
And also, the idea of play-offs in a league competition is arse. It's a league ffs.
The English league is not the best in the World. It used to be, years ago when it's teams dominated European competition, but it's not just now. No matter what the pundits tell folk.
Before anyone feels obliged to point it out, the SPL isn't even the best league in Scotland.
Harsh no I don't think so , I follow the game thru old highlites and news posts a day old . Most games while entertaining are at 4 :00 am but try to watch .
I never pretended to be an expert just a game I enjoy and was asking an honest question . Now if it was Hockey I would gladly try an explain the play off rules .
Yeah, but how in the name of fuck could it be the Arsenal keeper when it was Liverpool playing Chelsea.
Sorry, but I have no interest whatsoever in ICE Hockey. What's the point, you can hardly even see the ball.
manutd Arsenil tomorrow. That really is a crunch match after today's result.
Do ewe have an interest on hockey, like?
I'm aware they're all lezzas but they're the butch man-hating type:no:
None whatsoever.
I actually played for a proper team once, in a league and everything.
I do literally mean once. A mate asked me to come a long and play because loads of the team were down with aids or something. I popped along and played the game with borrowed kit because that's the kind of decent spud I am.
They forced us to play it in school once. I threatened to sue them for being racialist cause they only had sticks for right-handed midgets.
true story.
Oh great guess I'll get up early to watch . As I said I don't know all the teams ,I read about a goalie that had his skull fractured from a strikers knee ?
I just thought that was pretty courageous that he came back from injury so early and wearing a helmet ,don't think I'v seen that before surprised it's with in the rules . :)
arsenal>man utd
Fair point, well presented
Man Utd 24 57
Chelsea 24 51
Liverpool 24 46
Arsenal 24 45
Yeah, Arsenil will probly win them when it gets to the knockout stages.
Tell Sir Alex that playing Henke the way he did today is stupid. He plays off the main striker, he doesn't take the role himself. You should play him just behind the big lad Crouch, with Crouch playing as a target man and Larsson feeding off his balls.
I think our tactics were all to cock today, single striker playing with three wingers (one of whom is England's No. 1 centre forward) - all this resulting in our most effective player of the game being at left back.
Who was then moved into midfield :dabs:
Keeping it simple, so as not to exclude anyone. Rooney and Larsson were played in the wrong positions. Each should have had the role the other was given.
That's not me translating mankster, it's my opinion.
The only good side is that Chelsea are crap just now. It just shows how much they need Terry Johns and to a lesser extent Mark Allele.
