which one is better???
Kaspersky.
No contest at the moment.
Tried both of them myself in the past and must say wouldn't buy ;-) any of them.
Norton acts like a virus itself, hogging the system an being embedded in almost every registrykey there is and therefore hard to get rid of once you really want to dump it.
Kaspersky wasn't the most easy configurable app there was, but would imo win this contest easy as it seems they sorted that out.
Kaspersky is the best
I think, Kaspersky is better than Norton. :)
Norton can't find the viruses. For this reason, it can't clean the viruses.
Also, If we installed to Norton, our computers are work slow.
Norton isn't safely anti-virus.I recommend Kaspersky,F-Secure or Eset NOD32. :)
norton is to heavy
kaspersky is the best!
like 100% said norton is very heavy
Kaspersky all the way
i don't know who voted for Norton!
Kaspersky is much better
Nod32. :P
Kaspersky is way out in front of Norton.
I will get flamed for this, but I still use norton internet security 2005. Firewall/AV, one icon in tray and it has an ad blocker that kicks ass. I rarely have to add to it, it does that good a job.
I should probably switch to another app, but I can't find one that does everything I need. All the others are just an AV and I need another firewall and another ad blocker. I don't want 2 extra programs running or more icons in my tray.
Need you even ask? Of course the answer is kaspersky.
Nod32 is the best hands down
Wow.. Seems like I should try Kapersky.
NOD32... its the best...
Norton is the devil.
The software trifecta for an utterly crap PC is Norton coupled with AOL and SpySweeper.
Welcome to twenty minute boot times....
my boot up is fast. Maybe on a machine that has loads of shit it may be a long boot up. printer, mouse & norton is all I have loading.
just checked out Kaspersky Internet Security and I don't see ad blocker on the list:
http://usa.kaspersky-labs.com/produc...t-security.php
EDIT: it appears it's under the ant-spy section. How effective is it? Does it block all unwanted banners and such?
kaspersky is the best antivirus
norton is the best
kaspersky doesnt serve as a firewall does it...
hey chewie. I saw that you posted an nzb for the security suite way back in the summer. You wouldn't, by any chance, wanna repost that, would ya? ;) :D
It's o.k. if you can't.
both sucks badly
kaspersky is faster but norton is safer
Definetly Kaspersky. Norton is way to sloooooooooooooooow..
Although, I find Kaspersky slow at times too. Just not as bad as Norton.
(yeah, I tried both).
Kaspersky's the best, very reliable but slow at times.
KAV - Enable: scan new & changed files only, iSwift & iChecker.
1st scan time will be slow. All following scans will be wicked quick. Quicker by far than even NOD32.
I want to know who the people were that voted for norton (2) They must either be oblivious or be running a super computer not to notice the extreme and arguably unnecessary strain that it puts on your system.
Because Nod32 has "fixed" a few of my "friends" PCs that had Norton and other Antivirus programs on them. Nothing was showing with the other AV programs yet the erratic behavior was obvious. Nod32 picked them up almost immediately!
Nod32 is also fast and I find it uses very few resources. All that makes it my latest trusted tool.
Yeah I just got hip to Nod32. It uses very few resources like you say. I had been a long time user of Norton AV and Firewall, and it was just a pure system hog. Now I am using Nod32 and Outpost. God combination. I tried Kapersky but it was a hassle configuring it so I just said screw it. That said, I can't really say it's better or worse than Norton, but at the same time, I wouldn't go with Norton either.
i love kaspersky internet security. only thing is you gotta be careful with their firewall. slows down things...
Ive been using a combination of NOD32, Windows firewall and a router for years and ive only had maybe 5 major infections. Im talking since 2000. They were all my fault too, opening up stuff from limewire, directly connecting to the internet..you know..stupid mistakes.
