P2P program recommendation for single song download

Hi,

What do you recommend I use to download only single audio files? I've used Limewire but noticed recently that it's mostly full of fake files now. I've tried eMule and eDonkey but transfering files is slow and most of them take forever to finish. Torrent is probably out of the question because I would like to just download single songs, not entire albums.

What other programs are out there that are good for d/l single songs?

You can select which files to download when using torrents, although this is client dependent. However, almost all major clients (utorrent, azureus) have this feature, so...:huh: Just grab the ones you want when you snatch the torrent file.

don't realy know about good p2p program but there are some HTTP resources as Rapidshare and similar which contains a lot of audio files.
Just use sites like http://www.rapidshared.org to find what you need.

:dry: Seriously, anyways Xstation torrents and a good Bittorrent client is what you need. Personally, I recommend uTorrent 1.6 build 474 (uTorrent has been bought out, don't get any other version).

Find a torrent source site, grab what you need, look what files there are, and only select (Check/Uncheck) the ones you need. :happy:

No offense, but you sound like a n00b, hope you know how BT works. :ermm:

Also, BT is the best due to quality (and quantity).

frostwire's a good alternative

I use Bearshare Lite for grabbing single songs. Works like a charm.

try ares...

i use limewire, there are a few fakes, but you can normally pick them, and they're always seem to be in .wmv format, or maybe i just don't have a mainstream enough taste in music, either that of just use torrents, the quality seems higher, as does the variety of music.

Limewire. Soulseek. Bittorrent. Shareaza. Kazaa. Ares. I've used lots of different P2P apps. Some are great, some are not. You can find what you're looking for using almost any application. The bottom line is, you should educate yourself. If you don't know exactly what you're looking for, and what the file size should be, then you're asking to be duped.

I have trouble finding a tracker that has the encyclopedic collection of songs I'm used to on the gnutella network (I am used to having success downloading tracks from local indie bands, 1920's jazz musicians, etc.)

The signal to noise ratio on Limewire has become untenable lately, with 100's of chaff files for every real file. I guess i need to employ some serious detective skills to track down an invite to oink me as a long term solution, but I'm gonna give soulseek a try, as well as frostwire.

I downloaded frostwire, and it seems to screen out the chaff, but i am getting painfully slow downloads for what should be widely available files.

Just trying out soulseeker now, but it looks like it'll require some serious time to become an expert and add "friends" to my user list and such.

try eMule

DC++ or buy it for ~$0.20 from AllOfMP3.

all those clients are on the gnutella network try ares (but have noticed fake files lately only on popular crap that i woulnt touch anyway who downloads a 32 kb music file )

I think Filetopia is the best music p2p program.

It hasn't got very much files but it is anonymous.

using utorrent so it's nice too

I would recommend Soulseek as i always find what im looking for on it.
